We are happy to report that there is still plenty of firewood for enjoying campfires this summer!

They’re back! 3 or 4 pairs claiming spots on the ice already. Freya most definitely regards our neighbors as laser-eyed adversaries!

This week was a hard one for our family, we had to say goodbye to our beautiful Rosie girl. Rosie was with us from day 1 of our Fox Lake Retreat journey, not only as an integral part of our family, but as an ambassador for many of our guests. She was far from perfect - we had to replace a couple pair of boots in her early years, and all of our hunters learned that she could move much quicker than they thought when it came to scraps - but she was perfect for us.
Run free Rosie girl, we know that you are still watching over us 💔

🔥Come across a fire or an accident and not sure what to do?

☑️If it’s safe to do so, pull over and call 9-1-1.
☑️Stay in that spot while you call 9-1-1, so they can pin your location and have a better idea where they need to dispatch local fire departments to.
☑️Provide as much information as you can. 9-1-1 asks lots of questions to give the 1st responders as much information as possible to aid in their response. Please be patient with the dispatchers.
☑️Call anyways, even if you think someone else has already called it in.

Things to avoid
✖️Don’t keep driving when you call 9-1-1. When you keep driving this gives the 1st responders an inaccurate location of the incident that causes delays in getting to the scene. PLEASE stay on scene until 1st responders arrive.
✖️Do not call your buddy on the local fire department. ALWAYS CALL 9-1-1 FIRST.
✖️Don't call 9-1-1 unless you are sure there is an emergency
