Safety Notice – Sand Hills River Section

It has come to our attention that the section of river behind Telestat in the Sand Hills area has become increasingly dangerous for paddlers. We have received reports of multiple kayaks tipping in this area, resulting in injuries to several individuals.

For the safety of all guests, we strongly encourage anyone planning to kayak, canoe, tube, or participate in other water activities to exercise extreme caution when approaching this section of the river. River conditions can change quickly, and hazards such as strong currents, shifting sandbars, submerged obstacles, and shallow areas can increase the risk of capsizing and injury. These are recognized hazards in natural waterways and paddling environments.

Please wear a properly fitted personal flotation device (PFD) at all times, stay alert to changing water conditions, and avoid this area if you are inexperienced or unsure of your abilities.

Your safety is our top priority. If you witness an emergency or hazardous conditions, please notify campground staff immediately.

Registration is closed for our Kids' Fishing Tournament Saturday, June 6th.

Meet at the beach!
The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch will be provided at 1 p.m.! Kids participating will get a coupon for the Snack Shack.

Also at lunch, Wayne will be teaching the kids some tips and tricks for fishing the Saugeen!

Located near the river and just a short walk to campground amenities, these sites are perfect for a family outing, picnic, fishing day, or simply enjoying the outdoors.
