Our Story
Rose Manor is a Second Empire Style home which was built in 1878 for Thomas R. Bennett who, at the time, was the Speaker of the House of Assembly in St. John's. Justice Bennett presided over the famous “Harbour Grace Affray”. The house is built on ocean front property and surrounded by one and a half acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and large old trees including a magnificent 200-year-old cherry tree. There is plenty of room to walk, talk, relax, and enjoy the ocean view and the sounds of the sea. The Inn is surrounded by beautiful hiking trails and is perfectly located between the Baccelieu trail and the Admirals coast. A short driving distance from St.John's international Airport, Harbour Grace is one of the most historic harbours in North America.
With out-port names such as Cupids, Heart's Content, Heart's Desire, Heart's Delight, D***o all in the Conception Bay. No wonder we are known as the most Romantic Coast in Newfoundland and Labrador!
Rose Manor Inn is famous for it’s Afternoon High Teas and it’s fine bone China used at every seating. Our Chef is one of the best on the Avalon and creates incredible fine dining experiences for our guests. We are fully licensed to provide dining to outside guests as well.
We host traditional Lobster Boil-ups, Murder Mystery dinners, Fine Dining, Excursions, Foraging, Elopement packages, Romantic getaways and other fabulous things for our visitors as well as our Locals.
