🍂🐻 And just like that, we’re kicking off the final week of our fall hunting season!

After enjoying a few weeks off, we’re rested, recharged, and ready to get back at it for one last week in the woods!

Please join us in giving a warm New Brunswick welcome to our newest hunters, Martin and Neil, who have travelled all the way from Germany to join us here at Dead Bear Walking!🇩🇪🇨🇦

Let’s hope the woods are good to them this week! We’re wishing them plenty of bear sightings, a little luck on their side, and, of course, the opportunity to harvest a bear of their own!

Good luck, Martin and Neil! We hope you have an incredible week with us, make some wonderful memories, and leave with stories to tell long after you return home!

Let’s make this final week of the fall season a great one! 🐻🍁

There’s just something about the fall season… 🍂 Or, actually, there are a LOT of things!

It’s the beautiful, cooler days with the warm sunshine on your face. It’s the ever-changing colours of the leaves, and those chilly nights when you’re so cozy in bed that you just don’t want to get up.

And here at the lodge, I have to add that the sound of the river flowing by, with an eagle soaring overhead, is nothing short of remarkable. 🦅

Perhaps it’s this time of year when everything seems to slow down just a little, giving us the chance to appreciate the simpler things in life. The things we sometimes get too busy to notice.

I’m at the lodge working today, but honestly… how can you call it work when you have a view like this, the sun shining bright, and the temperature just about perfect? ☀️

Sometimes, we just need to stop for a moment, take it all in, and remind ourselves how fortunate we are.

🦃🍂 Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all our fellow Canadians! 🍂🦃

This weekend, we’re taking a moment to give thanks for the many blessings in our lives.

First and foremost, we are incredibly grateful for our amazing family. ❤️

We’re also thankful for our thriving business, Dead Bear Walking Outfitters, and for our incredible guides who work so hard and help make what we do so special.

To our amazing clients, we are thankful for YOU! You’re so much more than clients to us. You’re the reason we get to do what we love, and so many of you have become friends and part of our extended DBWO family. Whether you’ve hunted with us for years or have only recently crossed our paths, we appreciate the trust you place in us, the memories we get to share, and the friendships that continue long after the hunt is over. Our motto has always been, “COME AS A CLIENT, LEAVE AS A FRIEND” and we are truly grateful for each and every one of you. ❤️

We would also like to give a huge shout-out to all the local businesses we work so closely with throughout the year. Your support and partnerships mean more than you know.

Whether you’re celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend or not, we encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the things you’re grateful for.

Life gets busy. We get caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and sometimes we forget that the simplest, most ordinary things are often the things that mean the most.

A full table, a warm home, family and friends, good health, or simply another day spent doing what you love. Sometimes, those are the biggest blessings of all.

From our family to yours, we wish you a safe, happy, and wonderful Thanksgiving weekend! 🧡

Happy Thanksgiving, Canada! 🇨🇦

📍 EVER WONDER WHERE WE ARE?

Dead Bear Walking Outfitters is located just 15 minutes from the village of Harvey Station, New Brunswick!

Harvey is nestled at the southeastern end of beautiful Harvey Lake, approximately 35 km southwest of Fredericton and about 45 minutes northeast of the Calais, Maine border.

❤️ But Harvey is so much more than a spot on the map!

At the heart of Harvey is a deep connection to nature, community, and one another. Our small community is built on friendly faces, beautiful landscapes, rich history, and stories that connect our past with our future.

We take pride in our heritage, cherish our traditions, and celebrate the sense of togetherness that makes this place so special.

🌲 It’s a little piece of rural paradise!

Here, we enjoy the peace and tranquillity of country living, surrounded by rolling hills, beautiful forests, rivers, and lakes. And while we love the quiet, laid-back lifestyle, we’re still close to the everyday conveniences we need, including schools, healthcare, shops, restaurants, and recreational facilities.

For us, there’s something special about calling this beautiful corner of New Brunswick home. It’s where nature, community, and a love for the outdoors come together.

And it’s where we’re fortunate enough to welcome hunters, families, and friends to Dead Bear Walking Outfitters year after year! 🐻

Come for the hunt, stay for the memories!!

As the morning light came and the hunt began, Ty called this bull in to just 10 yards!

Bang! 💥 He didn’t go far before piling up.

A huge congratulations to the whole hunting group—our daughter-in-law Megan, our middle and youngest sons Devin and Ty, and Trent!

Megan, wicked job on your first moose! 🫎 What an incredible way to experience your first moose hunt.

We hope this hunt brings you all many stories, lots of laughs, and happy memories that you’ll be talking about for years to come!

P.S. — A huge thank-you to Trent for trucking our kids around all week! We sure appreciate you! ❤️🫎

Two of our guides sleeping on the job yesterday! 😂

Okay, okay… it may have been after the moose retrieval, but still! We’re going to have to have a little talk about this work ethic! 😴😂

Even guides need a little rest after a successful hunt! 🫎
