So it was a busy, and crazy, few days. The campground was totally full, a lot of great people, very respectful. Pretty much every one is gone until they return next year, and great to see, so many return. The day use area was busy arfer the parade, and people coming and going through these days. Now it's so quiet, and able to relax a bit.. awesome..

Wow, was an awesome, busy weekend. Got most of the grass cut and trimmed, looking nice around here. Had a few campers here for the weekend Baseball tourney, here in High Prairie. had a great few compliments, and enjoyed seeing the dayuse areas being used as well, i like that... So far its been a great season here, meeting so many people. Hoping to do some upgrades here, and try to raise some money to get things done, here.. But will keep posting.

Got spoiled for supper this evening. By one of my campers. Here at the High Prairie Campground.. awesome

Well, I'm really looking forward to being here at our local campground, again this year. Today I got a good start on cleaning up some sites and areas. I'm really anxious to get this season started!

Well. Had a good frost this morning. The camping season is almost done? But we are open as long as we can be.. hopefully first or second week in October.. but I must say, we stayed pretty full. And that's a bonus.

A pic, I took of the moon, in our campground, last nite..

Good day. I have just recently been added as an admin to this page. My name is Colin Chalifoux, and have been the new caretaker/attendant to the High Prairie Campground, since the first week of June. I am local to the area, and have grown up in, and around High Prairie. I do have to say, that this is new to me, this line or work, but I really do enjoy it. I am able to meet new people, make new friends, and enjoy making this a comfortable and relaxing place to be.
I have been busy, getting the campground in shape for this new season, cleaning and trimming areas, learning how to make things work better, or freshening up what has been here all along.... I have had the pleasure of hearing of people’s travels or adventures, where they have been, or where they may be heading. Offering them a safe, quiet, comfortable space is all I can do, and make them feel welcome!!
The day use areas are being used quite often, and nice to see that, Birthday get togethers, or just someone stopping in to sit and have a quick lunch. We only ask that you keep it clean.
Feel free to stop in, and make use of our local campground, Day use area, or RV dumping station, I look forward to greeting you!!

Hello just a little update on the campground . Yesterday I had a elderly couple in to stay , as I went to do my rounds I stopped and talked with this couple , they had told me that they were celebrating there 50th wedding anniversary this year . They had met threw an add in a newspaper , very lovely couple I’ll share with you all what I was told

My husband and I are celebrating our 50th anniversary this year. When he got to High Prairie for the first time he was early so he came to the campsite and made himself a cup of tea by the shelter. He picked me up at work ( I worked as a file clerk for dept of social development) when we were leaving work he says to me “I got here early so I made myself a cup of tea at the campsite & forgot my teapot, we will go get it”.I thought to myself If you try anything buddy… I’m outta here! Well when we got to the campsite he picked up his Rogers syrup tin made into a teapot. I thought how cheap!!
He was farming in the silver valley area.Pretty much every time we come to High prairie we tour this clean and neat campsite. We have camped her numerous times over the years. We did last night and enjoyed this little campsite and peice of history in our families life. I also remember having Stouts reunions, birthday gatherings and such out here as a teenager. Thank you for keeping this campsite clean and inviting place to come !

After speaking with the couple only to find out that Frankie Hawryliw is her relative and I also didn’t get there names 🤦🏻‍♀️ the letter states Winston & ( can’t make out the name sorry ) (Stout) Woods
