I choose serene. You?
My job bombards my nervous system daily. Everything from the soundscape (alarm beeps, yelling), to unpredictability, to people’s pain and anxiety - stretches my nervous system in a thousand uncomfortable ways. Add daily noise pollution, city life, financial stressors, navigating life and loss – and it’s no wonder we are all stressed to the max. No?
Serenity is on my mind a lot these days.
A couple of years ago almost to the day, I wrote a piece for the Toronto Star about nature, and the health benefits.

I increasingly try to find space in nature and it led us to take the leap and buy a cottage. And we wanted to create “Serene. Sustainable. Cozy” for others to experience as well.
Winter is a special time to get away…the calming blanket of snow, the quiet of trees in hibernation, the crisp air. Carve out your serenity…
