Great News!! "A" section will be OPEN @ 8:30 PM tonight June 1,2024.
Forest FIre crews are wrapping up and will be done shortly.
Thankyou all for your patients in this trying time. I sincerely hope we never have to deal with this again.
Last time we had a fire like this was in the early 1990's. We did not have cell phones here in the North so we could not even call for help. We did manage to get the fire under control ourselves. Good thing the fire was near the lake....and not as bad as this one but any fire is one too many!! Stay Safe Everyone!

UPDATE
All of Section "A" from A2 to A44 will remain closed till further notice. Please do not attempt to go into that section as the fire crews are still on site!
Section "B" and "C" of Horseshoe Lake Campground will be opened today Saturday June 1,2024 at 8:00 AM.
More updates as they come available.

The campground will remain closed overnight as Fire crews are on site and will remain on site till at least tomorrow. They will reassess teh situation in the morning and see when the campground can reopen. Thankyou al l for understanding the difficulties they are dealing with. More news in the morning.
On a good news note, no other trailers were damaged although there a few out buildings that were damaged. The fire was contained to the areas behind A10 and 11

As of now 8:00 PM the campground is closed and will remain closed over night. Fire crews have water hoses running from the lake to the containment area.

As most of you know we have had a signiicant fire in A section of the campground. Iroquois Falls Fire Department has the fire under control but the fire spread in the bush behind the campers has sufferfed a lot. The Ontario Forest Fire crews are on scene as well as MNRF. Investigation is under way. As of this time,, I can not determine if any other campers have been damaged or destroyed aside from The Burnette family lot. I will post an update as information becomes available
