Demand for hotel rooms in the Thunder Bay area has been crazy all summer, and is not showing any signs of slowing down! We receive an average of ~30 calls per day (and sometimes as many as 70 !!!) from people looking for a room after we've already sold out.

We've made the difficult decision to start screening our calls after we've filled up the current day's vacancies. If you phone us and hear a message saying we have no availability for the night, please don't keep trying!

General information, rates, and room availability for future dates can all be found on our website at www.telstarmotel.ca. We are also checking voicemails regularly, so if you prefer to speak to us you can leave a message and we'll get back to you ASAP.

We are a small operation and only have one person working the office each night. Unfortunately we just can't keep up with giving bad news to dozens of people and making suggestions for other motels to call, while still providing great hospitality to the folks who are already booked in with us. Thank you so much for your understanding, and we hope if you couldn't book this time around you'll give us another chance with more notice next time! 💙
