This was a very magical moment here. of is currently here hosting her sold-out Project ReWILD Soulcation Retreat with us.

While enjoying this incredible evening by the fire, I was treated to a symphony of sounds. Loons, sparrows, and a couple birds I have never heard before!! The fish were jumping, frogs frogging...it doesn't get better than that!

And then came the sounds of the ReWilding ceremony not far off at the edge of camp. The beautiful sounds of different instruments and music🥰. Brandy's voice like a melody on the breeze🎵🎶

And now, as the group gathers for the carefully prepared feast that has been wafting mouth-watering aromas throughout the camp, the bursts of laughter from inside the day lodge are echoing across the glass lake. The loons are joining in with their jubilant yodel.

This past weekend was a spectacular weekend to be at Akehurst!!
The snow is melting fast but the lake is still very much frozen. The colour is shifting so hopefully it starts to break up soon🙏🏼. Once it starts, it goes fast!

Getting in and back out was challenging. The road was quite the mix of heavy, deep snow and long patches of dry road. We only have one machine to take on that type of terrain and it is slooooow🐌

We will give Mother Nature some time to do her things and we will be welcoming guests the 3rd week of May.

A late start to the 2023 season, but we have been BUSY!!!

Lots of updates coming - stay tuned!!

After a record snowfall, we hadn’t anticipated we would be accessing Akehurst until mid-June at best. But the provincial government decided to replace the bridge at KM 10, thus closing the road for the month of June anyway.
