Due to extreme fire hazards, the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency has issued a fire ban for:

- Big Sandy Lake Recreation Site
- Candle Lake Provincial Park
- Clarence-Steepbank Lakes Provincial Park
- Cowan Dam Recreation Site
- Dagg Creek Recreation Site
- Duck Mountain Provincial Park
- East Trout Nipekamew Recreation Site
- Fort Carlton Provincial Historic Park
- Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park
- Great Blue Heron Provincial Park
- Greenbush River Recreation Site
- Greenwater Lake Provincial Park
- Hanson Lake Recreation Site
- Heritage Lake Recreation Site
- Leaf Rapids Recreation Site
- Limestone Lake Recreation Site
- Little Bear Lake Recreation Site
- Narrow Hills Provincial Park
- Nipekamew Sand Cliffs Protected Area
- Meridian Creek Recreation Site
- Montreal River Recreation Site
- Piprell Lake Recreation Site-
- Porcupine Hills Provincial Park
- Round Lake Recreation Site
- Saskatchewan River Forks Recreation Site

All wood-burning fires in the park are prohibited when restrictions are in place. CSA-approved self-contained portable gas heating and cooking devices (such as fire pits, barbecues, pressurized stoves, charcoal briquettes, and pellet barbecues or smokers) will be permitted for cooking and heating purposes.
The SPSA has also prohibited the use of ATVs and UTVs in affected areas.
