The Illuminated Forest at Ken Reid Conservation Area opened last night with a great turnout and wonderful reviews from visitors.

Parking is located at the former beach parking area. The Illuminated Forest is located in the Cedar Forest Trail.

Open nightly from 5pm to 9pm, running for all of December.

Nicknamed the "Jewel of the Kawarthas”, Fenelon Falls is home to lock 34 on the Trent-Severn Waterway between Sturgeon Lake and Cameron Lake. The falls are easily viewed from a nearby restaurant or from a path on the north band of the Fenelon River. This is a tourist town and makes a great day trip just 30 mins from . There’s cute shops selling clothes, crafts and antiques. Bonus: There’s also a yoga studio. Spend an hour or a day. Plenty to do.

Croissants, Crepes and Coffee - all better than what I recently enjoyed in Paris! We love the Shortis|s Cafe in Beaverton! Just 15 mins from the cottage but you’ll think you ended up in France! Great service, Awesome Food. ❤️ be sure to check them out.

Good news for Ontarians!! The temporary Ontario Staycation Tax Credit for 2022 aims to encourage Ontario families to explore the province, while helping the tourism and hospitality sectors recover from the financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ontario residents can claim 20% of their eligible 2022 accommodation expenses, for example, for a stay at a hotel, cottage or campground, when filing their personal Income Tax and Benefit Return for 2022.
