Well, I wasn’t going to post this, but after several “reels” on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, I decided I probably should.

So, 3 nights ago, we had a couple call and book a single room. No issues with that.

They said they were going to arrive at 6:00pm but arrived just before closing. Again, no issue, but we did make sure all was well, due to the delayed check in. We were assured they were fine, just got “turned around”.

Fast forward an hour..in which they checked in, then left, then actually entered their room. We saw the male customer, heaving a very large bag out of the front of their truck and struggle to get it to the room. I commented “wow, everything but the kitchen sink?”, to my husband. We chuckled.

Fast forward to morning…6:30 am is when I start our cleaning (if customers have left…I dont know why people get upset if I make their beds when they are still in it.LOL). As soon as I walk by their room, I hear the barking. No pets were registered, no pet fee paid. THIS is a problem.

So now I am watching. Fast forward 45 minutes and I see them leave their room (a check of the cameras later, I saw he had started packing up about 20 minutes prior, while I was cleaning another room)…practically running. Why you ask? Hang onto your hats

Not ONE dog, but FOUR!!! And……

A GOAT!!

Now, we are not a barn…and I realize your baby goat is probably the heart and soul of your family..but again

WE ARE NOT A BARN! All those reels and vids of goats are cute, but don’t belong in my motel (I could care less what you do in your own home)

When I say these people ran….they were in their truck and out of the parking lot before I could mumble “Bob’s your uncle”. So they waited to check in late, thinking it would be easier to sneak the barn yard in…and that big bag? It held the goat and the dogs, I am 100% positive.

Let’s make 2 things clear.

1). If they had paid the pet fee, I probably wouldnt have even noticed them leaving as I wouldnt have been watching

2) and this can’t be said enough…WE ARE NOT A BARN!!

Leave your farm animals at home or make them a bed in your trailer or vehicle.

No 🐐 allowed, no 🐄 allowed, no 🐓 allowed, no 🦆 allowed.

AND PAY YOUR PET FEES!!

By the way…as they snuck their pets in, they couldnt exactly walk them to the bathroom…so many p*e pads were in the room. And do you know what goats do? Goats chew…A LOT! EVERYTHING!! P*E PADS INCLUDED!!

Hello Everyone and HAPPY SUNDAY! Just a quick note and request.

We have updated our accounting system this past week and are launching it on “Are you crazy, it’s MONDAY!!” or if you prefer Monday, February 8th. We ask that you be patient with us as we navigate this very scary time in our business life (we were with the other system for 17 years!!).

Check-ins may take an extra minute or two, but we promise, we will get faster….maybe 😃

We are a business that uses a landline phone. If you are calling us, please leave a number if you wish to be called back. Your number is not visible on our phone and even if it was, how would we know it’s YOU?

There are times, when we are busy….with other customers, on the phone, cleaning or in today’s case, we were mowing and w**d whacking. Some of these tasks mean we won’t hear the phone, but leaving a message and number means we WILL call you back.

Phoning us 3 hours after your initial call and berating us, will only get the phone hung up in your ear, but maybe you feel better now.

Be sweet like 🍯, not sour like 🥒

Beginning September 28, 2025, the Kenora Inn Motel moves to Fall/Winter hours.

Open Monday - Saturday 8:30 am - 9:30pm
Closed Sundays and Holidays.

Another happy customer!! We are old school and love the little notes left in our rooms. (We also have the best customers in the world!!)

Ps…he lost his skidoo keys, which he realized once an hour away. We found them for him.
