Rushing River Provincial Park A favourite family camping destination offering beaches, playgrounds, discovery programs, hiking trails and endless opportunities for exploring.

Reserve your campsite now by visiting ontarioparks.com/reservations or by calling 1-888-668-7275 Rushing River cascades over rock gouged by glaciers in a series of rapids but elsewhere it is passable by canoe. It is the Gateway to Eagle-Dogtooth Provincial Park’s five canoe routes and is part of the water trail Path of the Paddle, extending from Manitoba to Thunder Bay. Rushing River is great place to come for a day or spend a couple nights. It is a favourite family camping destination offering beaches, playgrounds, interpretive programs, hiking trails and endless opportunities for exploring. We are even open during the winter, offering 18 km of groomed cross-country ski trails. Only a 2.5 hour drive from Winnipeg and a half hour from Kenora, come check us out!

The campground at Rushing River is now officially closed. 😢 However, our park is still open for day-use!

You can book your day-pass in advance by going to https://reservations.ontarioparks.ca/. Or if you want to pay when you arrive, you can follow the QR codes that will be posted around the Gatehouse, or if an attendant is available they will be more than happy to help you out!

Thanks to all of those who camped here this 2026 season! And thanks to all of the hardworking staff who helped keep our park operating smoothly!

Looking to get through the gate as quickly as possible this long weekend? Here's how you can speed up your entry to the park:

⏰ Avoid lines by arriving before 11:00 am or after 4:00 pm. Campsite check in is 2:00 pm, but you are welcome to arrive earlier to enjoy the park!

📱 Have your booking email ready, and know your campsite number

💻 Preregister your information. You can do this by logging into your account at reservations.ontarioparks.com

📃 And don't forget that we are paperless so if all of your information is Preregistered and you self check-in online you can skip the gatehouse entirely!

And remember: our staff are working hard to ensure our visitors have a safe and enjoyable trip. Please be patient as we get you into the park as quickly as possible.

We have new fall hours! 🍂🍂

Starting September 1st, our hours are as follows:

Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Saturday - Sunday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

With the exception of Friday, September 4th where will be open from 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM.

The nook will be open from 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM today. If you have to return any keys and equipment after 6 PM today, make sure to drop them off at the gatehouse to get your deposit returned.

Thinking of exploring nearby Eagle-Dogtooth Provincial Park? Access is available through Rushing River Provincial Park!

Rushing River Provincial Park is located on Dogtooth Lake which is the start of many canoe routes through Eagle-Dogtooth Provincial Park. Some of these routes travel through lakes such as Kilvert Lake, Eagle Lake, White Lake, Winnage Lake, and even Lake of The Woods!

Many visitors choose Rushing River Provincial Park as the perfect place to launch their canoe from. Stop by park office, where staff can provide more information and issue your nightly parking pass for your vehicle.

A few things to keep in mind for a safe trip:

🌲Research your trip before you leave so you know your route
🛶Know your skillset, and travel within your personal limits
☀️Leave a trip plan with someone at home
🌊Pack a map, compass, GPS, and first aid kit
🌿 Leave no trace! Ensure you are leaving your camping spots as clean as you found them

Recreational forest users, including campers, are responsible for 200 wildfires per year.

Here's how you can have a safe campfire at Ontario Parks:

🔥 Only use the designated fire pit
🔥 Keep your fire less than one metre in height and diameter
🔥 Never leave your campfire unattended
🔥 Put it out by pouring lots of water on the fire until the ashes don't hiss
🔥 Collecting deadwood or bark from the campground is not permitted
