Wild Woods Hideaway is a rustic eco-resort tucked into the forest along the shores of Mink Bay in Kenora, Ontario. We want to make camping available and enjoyable to as many people as possible by providing rustic, hand-crafted accommodations at reasonable prices, access to beautiful and diverse all-season trails, a wood-fired sauna, a dock for swimming and use of canoes, kayaks and paddleboards to explore the lake. We are ideally located to offer a wilderness vacation experience combined with the convenience of being located on the outskirts of the city of Kenora. It is possible to walk from our tents and cabins to some of the best restaurants in town or to pick up whatever you forgot to pack at the local grocery store. Whether it is winter, spring, summer or fall, Wild Woods Hideaway provides what you need to rest, play and explore the lake and forest of the Canadian Shield.

We have had several guests reach out concerned about whether we have been affected by the wildfires in the Whiteshell and northwest of Kenora. We appreciate the concern and are fortunate to have been unaffected at this point though we are also grateful that it looks like rain is coming early next week. June is a great time of year to enjoy the warmer weather and also benefit from a quieter camp before the official start of summer. If you are hoping to come out in July or August, it's definitely time to book as well as those months are filling up.

As the winter holidays come to a close we hope everyone mostly enjoyed theirs. As the days begin to lengthen (and hopefully get warmer) we are starting to anticipate spring at the camp. New this year is Yarrow Tiny Cabin, overlooking the water and proximate to the waterfront sauna. We have also upgraded the water heater for the main shower building which should give more precise and consistent temperature control to the shower. Finally we have installed heat pumps in two units (Burdock Tiny Home and Hawthorne Log Cabin) which will provide heating in the spring and fall and cooling in the summer.

We are also already taking bookings for the new year and you can book online at wildwoodshideaway.ca/booking !! If you are new here we offer rustic Log Cabins, Tiny Cabins, Prospector Tents and a Tiny home for rustic camping style stays. You can cozy up around fire pits or in wood fired saunas or adventure out on our trails, with a swim or with our canoes, kayaks, pedal boats, and stand up paddle boards (watercraft use is included with every booking). Prices range from 98 to 140 dollars during the week and are 15 dollars more on weekends.

If you are looking for one more summer getaway we have 2 prospector tents available from August 19th-23rd, a waterview tiny cabin available from the 21st through 23rd, as well as both prospector tents and tiny cabins available from the 25th through 30th. Both of these last minute openings are marked down from our normal weekday prices of $96 for the tents and $106 for the Waterview tiny cabins. We also have lots of during the week availability in the beginning of September.

All bookings include access to canoes, kayaks, pedal boats and paddleboards, hiking trails, docks for swimming. We also have wood-fired saunas on site. You can book online at wildwoodshideaway.ca/booking or call to book at 807-407-9453.

June is a great time to get a quiet camp at discount prices, with no midweek date restrictions if you can get away during the week.

We also still have lots of weekday availability for July. We have weekend availability still the weekend starting the 5th and lots the folk fest weekend starting the 12th.

Regular prices range from $96 for Prospector tents to $132 for log cabins and are $15 more on weekends.

In July and August we shift to set check ins and outs on any Monday Wednesday or Friday, though we are flexible with same week bookings.

All bookings include access to canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, docks for swimming, hiking trails.

For the last couple of days at Wild Woods it felt like winter finally came, and today it felt again like spring is around the corner, which got me outside working on firewood. If you need or want specific dates and are thinking about coming out this summer, it is good idea to get your dates, and lock in your favorite units as soon as possible. Just a reminder that we are open from starting May 1st and we look forward to seeing you!!
