A massive thank you to the amazing team from First Evangelical Missionary Church Pembroke, along with some of our campers who braved the bugs, humidity, and rain to help get the campground ready for another summer of ministry!

The heavier rain held off until lunchtime, giving the team the opportunity to accomplish a tremendous amount of raking, clearing brush, taking down trees, chopping firewood, and continuing the clearing of our forest trail. What a HUGE help!

Days like this remind us how blessed we are to have such a dedicated community of volunteers who generously give their time, energy, and talents to support the work of camp.

We truly couldn't do what we do without volunteers like these. Thank you for helping prepare the campground for the many campers and families who will make memories, build friendships, and grow in faith here this summer!

Today is the Day of Prayer for Camp! 🏕️🙏

Today we join with churches, camp ministries, staff, volunteers, families, and supporters across the country in praying for the incredible ministry that happens through Christian camping.

We are so thankful for all of the prayer warriors who faithfully support Camp Mishewah and Stayner Camp throughout the year. Your prayers matter more than you know. As another summer season approaches, we are praying for safety, meaningful friendships, servant-hearted staff, life-changing moments, and opportunities for campers of all ages to encounter God in a real and personal way.

Whether you are praying during a church service, around the dinner table, on a walk, at camp, or quietly on your own, thank you for standing with us in prayer.

Camp Cleanup Day at Mishewah

Join us at Camp Mishewah on June 6 at 9 am for a Work Morning as we get the camp ready for another incredible summer season.

There are jobs for all skill levels, so everyone is welcome. Tasks will include raking leaves, chipping branches, tree cleanup, moving, splitting and stacking firewood, and general grounds work.

Whether you’re comfortable with hands-on outdoor work or just willing to pitch in where needed, there’s a place for you.

We’re excited that Steve and Jeanette will be heading to Lakeshore Evangelical Missionary Church in North Bay this Sunday, May 31 to share about camp and ways you can get involved this summer!

If you’ve been thinking about volunteering, serving, sending your kids to camp, or just want to hear more about what God is doing through Camp Mishewah, we’d love to see you there. Join us for the Sunday morning service at 10:30am!

Pray For Us This Sunday!

This Sunday, May is the national Day of Prayer for Camp, and we would love to invite you to join us in praying for the ministry happening this summer at Stayner Camp and Camp Mishewah.

As we prepare for another camp season, we are getting ready to welcome hundreds of campers, families, volunteers, and staff. Camp creates space for people to grow in faith, build community, encounter Jesus, and experience rest and renewal away from the busyness of everyday life.

Please pray for:
• campers and families preparing for summer
• our staff, board, and volunteers
• safety, wisdom, energy, and encouragement
• lives to be changed through camp ministry
• God’s provision for every need at both camps

We would especially encourage our EMCC churches to take a few moments during Sunday services to talk about and pray for camp ministry together, and encourage people to get involved this summer.

And if you do pray for us this Sunday, we would love to hear from you. Messages letting our teams know they are being prayed for are always such an encouragement.

If you are local to either camp, you are also welcome to come spend time praying over the grounds in person.

There’s something special about family time at Camp Mishewah!

Away from the busyness of work, school, sports, errands, and screens, families have the chance to slow down, reconnect, and simply be together by the lake.

Family Camp is also a meaningful opportunity to grow in faith together. Worshipping, learning, serving, and praying alongside one another helps build lasting faith and deeper connections.

And beyond your own family, Family Camp is also about community. Over the course of the week, strangers quickly become friends. Kids build friendships that continue long after camp ends, parents connect with others in similar seasons of life, and before long, those once-new friends become your camp family.

Family Camp can also be a great introduction to camp life for younger children, helping prepare them for future adventures at Camp Mishewah overnight camp..

We know many of you are eager for registration to open for Camp Mishewah this summer. We are too.

This year we are moving to a new registration system called CampLife. It will be far more user-friendly and should help prevent some of the website traffic issues and crashes we have experienced in past years.

At this point, we do not have a confirmed registration launch date, but we will not be ready by Monday as we had previously planned. We are waiting on some final pieces to be completed on CampLife’s end before we can officially open registration. It could be very soon, but we do not want to promise a timeline until we know for sure.

We understand that waiting is not always easy. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we make this important transition. We truly appreciate it.

As soon as registration is ready to open, we will share the news right away.
