Alwaki Lodge is a remote, boat-in fishing lodge located on Thompson Island on Lac Kipawa, a short five-hour drive north of Toronto. Owned and operated by the Douglas family, we welcome the opportunity to host you in one of our ten rental cabins. A home away from home, all of our cabins have spectacular views and they are spacious, meticulously maintained, and extremely comf

ortable. Each one is outfitted with bbqs and kitchens that are fully stocked with all of the amenities (propane fridges and stoves, dishes, and pots and pans) you will need to make delicious meals and hold memorable fish frys; large propane deep fryers are available upon request. They also have hot running water and two-piece washrooms, complete with flush toilets. A number of our cabins have in-house showers as well; our two, newly renovated central shower houses service those that do not. If you are interested in a more private vacation setting, our beautiful Pan abode cedar log outpost cabin would make an excellent choice. It has the same amenities as our other cabins and it is equipped with its own solar system, making it possible for you to soak up the sun on either its deck or dock, enjoy an evening of fishing, and then stay up late into the night playing cards and enjoying the company of your friends and family members. Our main lodge is a great place for both families and fishermen alike. This log building also has stunning views and serves as a central hub where all of our guests can gather to share their techniques, their favourite fishing spots, and, of course, their “fish” stories. Have your supper at the table overlooking the lake or just kick back on one of the couches and enjoy the game or a movie on our satellite TV. Stay connected too! By bringing your laptop or cell phone to the main lodge, you can quickly get caught up with the latest news from home by accessing our free satellite wifi. With over 2000 kilometres of shoreline, Lac Kipawa is one of the most beautiful lakes in Quebec. In addition to the serene pine-filled rolling hills that make up its shoreline, it is well known for its excellent walleye, lake trout, and northern pike fishing. You don’t have to travel far from your cabin to catch your limit! We outfit every group of 2 to 3 people with an aluminium boat that has swivel seats, a 15-20 hp motor, and a fish finder. Not only will you be catching your supper quickly, but you will also be doing it in comfort. Don’t worry about picking up fishing licences, worms, leaches, or ice – we have all of that here, for your added convenience! Families are always welcome at the lodge too! July and August are perfect months to enjoy a swim or jump into one of our kayaks, canoes, or paddleboats and go for a tour around the island. While parents kick back in an Adirondack chair or unwind in a hammock, kids can spend some of their time in our activity centre. Swings, a slide, a sandbox, and a play area offer them many options for enjoying their time on the island. Consider making Alwaki Lodge your summer destination. Open from the May long weekend to the end of September, we look forward to hosting you and giving you an enjoyable and memorable experience.
