We're back with another ! Say hello to Connor and Aaron.

Connor has been working at Charleston Lake Provincial Park for 3 years. His most useful tip for visitors is to pack extra socks! 🧦

He also recommends coming to a complete stop at the stop sign at the Gatehouse when entering the park. 🛑

The coolest thing he's seen in the park is a Lake Trout, while his favourite animal found in the park is a Bald Eagle. A fun fact about Connor is that he has played badminton in Nunavut!

Aaron is in his first season working at Charleston Lake Provincial Park. His most useful tip for campers is to make sure no garbage is left behind in the campfire pit when checking out of your campsite.

His favourite animal found in the park is the White-Tailed Deer, and a fun fact about Aaron is that he has gone skydiving!

Happy !🦇

Did you know that there are 8 different species of bat in Ontario, and Charleston Lake Provincial Park is likely home to all of them? It's true!

Bats are the only mammal that can fly, and are typically only active at night. While flying at night, our Bats hunt hundreds to thousands of insects like moths and mosquitoes, scooping them up with their tails and eating them mid-flight!🌌

Just think of how many more mosquito bites we would get if it weren't for our Bats!🦟

👋 Meet two of Charleston Lake Provincial Park's wonderful Discovery Students, Ava and Bec! This is Ava and Bec's first year at .

Ava's most useful tip is to be prepared to have fun in all types of weather and bring activities to enjoy on rainy days! She recommends visitors hike as many trails as possible during your visit here, especially the Shoreline Trail at sunset. 🥾

Ava's favourite animal? Otters!

Bec recommends visiting the Discovery Centre during your next visit. The coolest thing Bec has seen is a Pelecinid Wasp, and Bec's favourite animal is an Osprey!

Ava and Bec have brought so much enthusiasm and passion for the outdoors to Charleston Lake Provincial Park this season. Make sure to stop at the Discovery Centre and say hello on your next visit!

This is A. Taylor's 5th year at . Over the years, he has had the chance to work in 4 different roles throughout the park!

His favourite animal? Foxes, of course! 🦊

His tip for campers is simple: leave your campsite the way you found it. 🏕️

Recreational forest users, including campers, are responsible for 200 wildfires per year. Before you check out of your campsite, ensure your campfire is completely out.

Use the following steps to put your fire out:

🔥 Pour lots of water on the campfire
🔥 Stir the ashes with a stick
🔥 Pour more water over top of it

Repeat these three steps until:

- the ashes don’t hiss
- everything looks wet
- no more smoke comes from the ashes

A few extra minutes to put out your campfire can help prevent a wildfire. Let's all do our part to keep Ontario's parks safe and beautiful.
