Karen and I came to look at the Capricorn Motel Royale in the spring of 2016. We absolutely fell in love with the motel and the location. Our tag line from day 1 has been “Clean, Quiet, and Beautiful”. The Capricorn Motel Royale is located on a lane that runs along the shore of the St. Lawrence River with beautiful homes, a horse barn, floating homes, boat docks and marinas. The property has lots
of parking for our guests' boats and trailers, as well as the use of the free public boat launch and dock. Each of our rooms is at ground level and has a covered patio area with tables and chairs. They have a mini fridge, and coffee maker and a small sitting area. There is access to a shared kitchenette with a full sized fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave, and an assortment of dishes and cutlery (and the all important cork screw). There are also propane BBQs available. 11 of the rooms have 2 double beds and 3 have a queen sized bed. Directly across the lane from the motel is the Gananoque Boat Line - Ivy Lea Port that offers 1 hour sightseeing tours of the amazing St. Lawrence River and the 1000 Islands including the famous Boldt Castle. Also directly across the lane is the Smugglers Cove Resto Bar, a totally renovated exciting new restaurant and bar with a spectacular patio that looks out over the 1000 Islands. On the north side of the 1000 Islands Parkway is a paved bike trail. It runs along the river and spans 40km from Gananoque to Brockville offering a safe beautiful walk or ride along the river. Our first summer was a whirlwind of unbelievable. We learned how to run a motel, we met many great people from around the world and we figured out what we and our guests thought we could improve. Since taking over, we have installed a new internet and an enhanced WiFi is now available to all our guests free. We installed a new satellite system and purchased flatscreen TVs for every room. We purchased new air conditioners for every room. We installed new flooring in several rooms. We replaced many beds that we felt were not up to our standards. We purchased new linens and towels. It is now the middle of February and we can’t wait to show off the many upgrades to our guests when we re-open May 1. To make reservations or ask questions, please contact us directly.
