Last night, we had the pleasure of serving 125 turkey dinners! ❤️

We are so incredibly thankful for the wonderful support from our customers and community. It truly means so much to us!

There is some great people to help along the way including Peninsula Appliances who show up in a min when I am in crisis, the admin and teachers at BPDS who laugh with us as we learn , definitely Nicole Craddock in the office and Alaina Reid - my trusty sidekick who shows with a smile and wonders what today will bring lol

Just like that on day 1 of our Hot Lunch program at BPDS rolled out .

We made dozens upon dozens upon DOZENS of plates of Spaghetti that rolled into classrooms ...we made sure the right drink went with right sauce ( or no sauce lol)

🐻 BEAR CUBS CAFÉ HOT LUNCH UPDATE - Hooray starting Monday we have 157 kids signed up for Hot Lunches at BPDS

Well folks… I have officially entered the world of Hot Lunch Paperwork. 😂...forgot about this side of it lol

And let me tell you — it’s been an adventure.

I’ve received forms that came back late.

Forms with cheques that weren’t signed.

Payments that don’t quite match the order.

Boxes checked that I’m pretty sure weren’t meant to be checked.

Orders paid for on PD Days… when there are no kids at school. 😂

Forms with some very enthusiastic scribbling.

And math that has made me question everything I thought I knew about addition. 🤣

There have been crossed-out lunches, mystery totals, missing information and a few forms that required me to put on my detective hat. 🕵️‍♀️🐻

BUT GUESS WHAT?

We’re all human.

Parents are busy. Kids are kids. Papers get shoved into backpacks. Cheques get forgotten. Boxes get checked. Math happens. 😂

And I’m getting through it — one hot lunch form at a time.

So when we officially roll out the Bear Cubs Café Hot Lunch Program on Monday, please remember that this is brand new for all of us.

We are going to work incredibly hard to get every lunch right, every child fed, and everything running as smoothly as possible.

But there may be a hiccup.
There may be a mixed-up milk.
There may even be a moment where I stare at a piece of paper and wonder what on earth we all agreed to. 😂 (I still think its funny that I decided to do this because I dislike making my kids lunches....)

Please give us a little grace while we get our feet under us — and remember that I’m human too. ❤️

We’ll figure it out together.

One form.
One lunch.
One little Bear Cub at a time. 🐻❤️
