Happy Friday everyone !

We have welcomed some new faces to our team! And a couple more yet to come!

Learning a busy restaurant takes time, and we'd like to ask our wonderful customers to help us make these new staff members feel as welcome as you made the others when they first started...

We know everyone has their favourite server, and that's a compliment to the great people who have worked here over the years!

However, we don't share staff schedules, and we can't always accommodate requests for specific servers.

When a new server greets you at the table, please don't openly say " ________ is our favourite server..Why are they not here today? "

A server does not want to hear this on their first day and wants to be made to feel as welcome as the servers that have been here for years...

We have had this happen multiple times it's not great for someone's self esteem as a new employee.

Thank you for supporting local businesses, supporting local jobs, and helping us keep Bear Tracks a welcoming place for everyone—customers and staff alike!

PS- I am well aware that I am a Mama Bear and very protective of my staff- But they're pretty fantastic .

Some call it Shepherd’s Pie others Cottage Pie ...either way both come from the UK and are the ultimate comfort food ...

We use fresh local beef , real whipped potatoes and yes the warm dinner rolls are always included. Throw in a garden salad and pie of your choice all for $22.

You do not want to miss this one every Sunday night! It can get very busy please call to hold your table!

Doing our best to keep our prices reasonable...$10 breakie in Pike Bay today..$10 or $16 Lunches that Seniors are loving... We keep prices affordable and we will not skyrocket prices for tourists.

Some would say, how do we do that?When other restaurants are raising prices...well we work it ourselves and are equal to our staff - yes we wash dishes and arent afraid to flip a pile of eggs lol

We cater dinners out, we do Pizza Days for BPDS and most recently, we are ecstatic to announce we just took on the tender for the school cafeteria. ( Yay!) All of this keeps us stable year round staff and low prices.

Thank you for continuing to support local. Every coffee, breakfast, dinner, and slice of pie helps small businesses like ours keep going. We appreciate you more than you know

Today is one of those days I need someone to sit and drink coffee all day and answer the phone and say " yes we are open.." over and over and over lol

We get ALOT of phone calls on Stat days...so YES WE ARE OPEN :)

Well its only Sunday and we have 2 more busy days of the weekend to go!

I want to basically make this facebook post to thank my staff.

Because frankly they're just the best..

We don't have staff come and go. We have a core group that is stuck with us since Covid. We have lost one due to illness most recently but hope shes back on her feet soon . We have had some move into Supervisory roles with older staff rooting them on.

The things I have seen this weekend are phenomenal. Older staff mentoring new with so much patience. Training training training ..thats been our last few weeks.

It's been an awesome time at Bear Tracks in recent days.

If how this weekend is going is a taste of how Summer will go I think we are going to have a fantastic season!

Business shout out from one to another...

The Shops at 84 Main

Gave myself a little pre- mothers Day shopping trip to this little gem of a store in Lions Head. Sarah and Marydale have the shelves and racks stocked with beautiful spring and summer ladies wear. Much like ourselves they pride themselves on shopping in Canada. Jeans that fit " just right" , comfy and dressy clothes even pj's!

Giftware , baby's clothing, food ..they have it all :)

When coming up this summer be sure to check them out ;)

First off — thank you to everyone who joined us over Mother’s Day weekend!

We truly appreciate every family that chose to spend part of their special day with us..we had 3 sold out sittings could've easily down 4. This IS and always has been our busiest day of the entire year .

We unfortunately had several last-minute cancellations and no-shows during both Easter and Mother’s Day sittings.

While we completely understand that emergencies and unexpected situations happen, reserved tables that sit empty also mean we may have turned other families away unnecessarily.

We do not want to be the restaurant that takes deposits and credit cards for these special events. I am not the business owner that wants to chase people in a small town for $40 or $80 . However no shows of 6-8 pp aren't small potatoes.

We are going to see how Fathers Day goes!

We have had 2 cancellations come through for our sold out dinner buffet this morning.

We have turned several people away.

If you are interested in coming , we have a booth available at 4pm and a larger table available for 640pm.

Motel Rebuild Update!

Well this might just be our busiest week yet!

Where to start ...trim is stained and installed, Water Depot has put in a brand new system , internet installed , heat pumps in place with mini splits, bathroom lighting ( and all lighting in place) windows in , doors in, deadbolts in, laundry rooms both complete ( yet to buy appliances but we have a neighbour close by :) ) furniture ,paintings shower curtains all arrived...

Waiting on ...beautiful custom made vanities . Excited to see them.

Now on to a busy Mothers Day weekend!

Thanks to North Bruce Heating , Hofstrand Contracting , Weir Builders , Wilson's , ( and all the Home Hardwares as we are using a bunch) Water Depot , Evergreen Electrical , Steven @ The Brick all for helping out this week!

Usually at Bear Tracks Friday mornings means elementary pizza slices flying out the door faster than we can cut them 🍕 I mean there's 300 elementary kiddos in that school now !

But today… we got upgraded to the secondary crowd too! Which meant chicken wings and poutine were officially added to the school lunch lineup. Thanks to the Secondary students for choosing Bear Tracks for a fun hot lunch today!
