We’ve been working on a new workshop space at Willow Hill, and we thought we’d try something a little different.

On October 24th, we have willow-weaving instructor Karla Powell coming in to teach us how to make these beautiful woven pieces.

I’ve never made one before, so I’ll be learning right along with you!

What I love about this project is that it can start as a bird feeder, but once you’ve made it, there are so many possibilities. Add some lights and it becomes a lantern, decorate it for Christmas, fill it with greenery for winter, or use it in the garden.

This is our first class in the new workshop, and who knows… it may be the only one we do, or it may lead to something more. 😊

For now, we’re just going to have some fun, learn something new and see what we can create.

What a beautiful morning for Thanksgiving!

As we look out at the beauty surrounding us this morning, we’re reminded of just how much we have to be thankful for.

Running Willow Hill Lodge has always been about more than providing a place to stay. It’s about the people we meet, the stories we hear, the laughter we share, and the connections we make along the way.

To our new guests, returning guests, and our very special VIP guests — thank you.

Each of you arrives with your own story, your own adventures, and your own reasons for finding your way to our little corner of the foothills. We treasure the conversations, the unexpected connections, the familiar faces who feel like old friends, and the new friendships that begin around a breakfast table or while exploring our trails.

Some of you have been here once, some of you have returned time and time again, and some of you have become part of the Willow Hill family. Every visit means more to us than you might realize.

When we dreamed of creating Willow Hill Lodge, we hoped to build something special — a place where people could slow down, reconnect with nature, make memories, and feel a little bit at home. You have helped turn that dream into a reality, and we are so grateful.

Thank you for choosing to spend your time with us, for sharing a little piece of your lives, for recommending us to others, and for supporting our little business. Every visit, every kind word, and every return booking reminds us why we do what we do.

Willow Hill Lodge has officially won SILVER in the Best Hotel/Motel/B&B category for the Foothills!

We’re not entirely sure what category we belong in either — we’re a little bit B&B, a little bit lodge, a little bit “what the heck is that over there?” 🤣 — but apparently you think we’re pretty great at it!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who took the time to vote for us. ❤️

Every vote, every stay, every event, every recommendation to a friend, and every person who has wandered onto our property and said, “I had no idea this was here!” means the world to us.

We’ll proudly wear our silver medal… although we’re already wondering where we can put a tiny podium on the property.😂

A Change of Plans for Sunday’s Concert ❤️

We’ve made the difficult decision to cancel this Sunday’s Travelling Mabel’s concert at Willow Hill Lodge.

As much as we love an outdoor concert under the big Alberta sky, September has decided to remind us that summer doesn’t last forever! With the cooler temperatures and so much rain settling in, we don’t feel we can give you the warm, comfortable evening you deserve.

We could push ahead and ask everyone to bundle up, but that’s not the Willow Hill experience we want you to have. We want you enjoying the music, the setting and the evening — not wondering how many layers you should have worn! 🥶

Everyone who purchased a ticket will be contacted directly regarding a full refund.

We are truly sorry for the change of plans, especially after you’ve been looking forward to this long-awaited evening. We appreciate your understanding and, most of all, your support of our little corner of the foothills.

We’ll be back with more music, more good food and hopefully a little more cooperation from Mother Nature. ❤️
