Just a slice of the oak flooring in the hotel. I spent most of yesterday persuading two pieces of flooring to fit back into their spaces.
Can you imagine the cost of installing real oak flooring in a building this size at today's costs? It would definitely cost more then it originally did to build the entire hotel in 1883.
That alone is the perfect reason to restore it.

There are a lot of little places on stair spindles and wood trim. These will be very helpful. The cashier at the hardware store was just as surprised as I was that these could be found in the tool section. 😂
