After a busy summer, we are now in the quiet season and are moving our guest house to a mid term rental. So stays 1 month minimum. Furnished. If you or any of your friends want to hang out on Vancouver Island this fall or winter please DM me or on Arbutus Woods cottage page. We listed it on Airbnb also for those that prefer using that platform. I will link the VRBO and Airbnb lisitngs in the comments so you can see more photos and descriptions. It is discounted 45% for month plus from our regular less than hotel pricing. Its a separate guesthouse, so no noisy neighbours sharing walls and sound.

Wow, we had a full summer this year. All terrific guests. This was a great way to end the summer season, receiving a lovely card from our last summer guests! Since fall and winter are slow for tourists, we are doing midterm rental now which mins 30 days and longer. So if you want to hang out on the island for a couple months or more, DM me. I will post the VRBO link in the comments to check out the amenities and photos. We are doing heavily discounted rates for monthly guests.

Travel tip: Visit Butchart Gardens after 4 pm, it's not as busy. Wed through Sunday nights at 8 pm there is a concert in the bandshell or fireworks on Saturdays at 9:30 and you can tour the gardens til 11 pm. The food at the Blue Poppy restaurant is pretty good. Mondays and Tuesdays they close at 5 and you can stay til 6 pm. Please check their schedule as it changes with seasons.

Daytrip to Shirley to see this lighthouse (there is a walk involved down), have a great lunch or snack at Shirley Delicious and stop in at a gin distillery or a meadery!! There is a yummy wood fired, gourmet pizza place called Stoked, if you got hungry again. This is on the west coast of the island, so catch the sunset and enjoy the scenic ocean drive.

Spring is finally in full swing here on Vancouver Island, we have even had dome summer like temperatures. We had a few false starts this year, but it is glorious now!! I personally love world renowned Butchart Gardens. It should be on anyone's things to do while on Vancouver Island list if you appreciate beautiful gardens. Our summer calendar is filling up so, if a trip to the island is on your list this year, please book soon. Oddly, June is wide open for those able to do a last minute trip.
