March is fast ending and we are planning the huge projects we have lined up. So April/May will be dedicated to getting the master electrician in to finally finish the hook up. Ideally we start digging to connect a line from the water well to the cottage and have running water directly from the source! Big projects, but so worth it ❤ can't wait to open this year with the exciting new electricity!!! Taking bookings for the beginning of June!

This weekend brings so much emotions with the cottage. This summer was a roller coaster, waiting on hydro to install the posts in, them pushing it from beginning of July to finally having them put in beginning of October.

We postpone renting this year constantly waiting after hydro. Well this weekend confirms it, we have the posts in, but sadly we are closing it now for the season. It's an exciting yet sad goodbye for the cottage until next spring.

The first sign of spring we will have our master electrician connect it to the cottage and hopefully we start the renting season with the happy announcement of running electricity!

Due to hydro delaying the work, we will only rent the cottage to whomever is understanding that this is an off grid location. Please remember we are solar powered, propane for appliances, running water, no cell phone services currently reaches the cottage.

Great place to disconnect completely from the busy life, forget about time and listen to your body. Let nature guide your days. Quiet little beach leading to a ever so quiet lake.

This summer, we are waiting for hydro which now have told us will be done end of August. We will dig out and connect the a waterline from the well directly into the cottage instead of having to pump it into a water reservoir. Picnic table is built and bringing it up this weekend, look out for pictures of that, we are very pleased with the finish product.

Next year, we will be able to open early and stay late into the season as electricity will allow us to keep the place at q decent temperature to keep the pipes from bursting in the cold!

Can't wait to accommodate you thus year and if not, we will be more then happy to accommodate you starting early spring next year!

Quick update:

We finally have everything dealt with Hydro Quebec, now we are just waiting for them to come plant the posts in. Our master electrician has already came by to start the work for our very new electricity soon to come! Again we are waiting but things are moving along!

Hey everyone,

Keeping up with updates, we are getting HydroQuebec in touch with our master electrician in hopes to see if the option of underground wires could be a better for us. More cost efficient hopefully but also more esthetically pleasing. We are still waiting patiently. Hopefully we know more by the end of the week!

Pour suivre les mises à jour, nous mettons HydroQuebec en contact avec notre maître électricien dans l'espoir de voir si l'option des fils souterrains pourrait être meilleure pour nous. Plus rentable, espérons-le, mais aussi plus esthétique. Nous attendons toujours patiemment. Espérons en savoir plus d'ici la fin de la semaine!

Hi everyone!

We hope winter is treating you all well, wishing everyone to be as healthy and safe as possible during these times.

Cottage season is almost here, as much as we would love to say yes we are ready to take bookings, we will be waiting to hear back from HydroQuebec on an estimate of time as to when the electrical post will be planted in the ground. Our master electrician did let us know once the posts are in its a matter of a days work that's it. So really we are just pushing HydroQuebec to give us an answer.

Once we know, we will open up bookings and very happy to say we will have electricity running through the cottage which will allow us peace of mind that all our guests are comfortable but also allow us to lengthen our season until October and possibly November dependent of weather.

Nous espérons que vous vous amusez bien cette hiver, que la santé et la joie restent avec vous.

La saison des chalets arrivent à grand pas, et malgré notre excitement d'ouvrir et prendre des rendez vous nous allons attendre. Comme déjà mentionné, nous sommes dans les étapes pour recevoir l'électricité au chalet. Nous poussons HydroQuebec de nous donner une date pour savoir quand les poteaux seront planter. Par la suite notre maître electrician nous a aviser que ses travaux vont seulement prendre une journée.

Une fois que nous avons une réponse d'HydroQuebec, nous allons ouvrir les portes pour les bookings pour l'été. Avec l'électricité dans la chalet, cela nous donnera la chance de garder la chalet ouvert jusqu'en octobre et possiblement en novembre tout dépendant la température.

Passez une bonne fin d'hiver!

October ended our very first summer season with the cottage. We look forward to the spring already. But this winter is promising for some good changes at the cottage. The city finally approved electricity to come down our way! We just had an electrician come in to inspect the wiring and together with the hydro we are on the path to have an electrical post put in and wired to the cottage. This is all a very slow process, we were quoted 6months from start to finish but we are very excited for this!

Octobre détermine la fin de notre premier été avec le chalet. Nous sommes impatient que le printemps retourne! Mais cette hivers nous promets d'être productif. La ville a enfin approuvé l'électricité dans notre bout! Nous venons d'avoir un électricien qui est venue inspecter les fils et ensemble avec Hydro nous sommes sur le chemin d'être connecté! Nous avons besoin d'un poteau sur notre terrain et d'être connecté et hydro va nous connecter. Tout un process très lent, peut prendre jusqu'à 6mois, mais nous sommes vraiment excités pour les changements à venir!
