We would like to say that Summer 2026 at the Root was a success! Between the beach days and bonfire nights, dog walks and the turtle swims, the lazy days and the fun nights, corn hole losses and beach olympic triumphs, what a great summer it has been! Thank you all for calling the Root your summer home and enjoying our little retreat. See you next spring!

The turkey, ham, pork roast, burnt ends, the salads and sides! Amazing food! Thank you all for your contributions to our Twisted Thanksgiving Potluck. It was a beautiful fall day and spent it with many of our wonderful campers.
And a happy birthday to our sweet Jen!
And the Bombers won!

Fall is bittersweet

Together we were able to raise $3495 to help these two beautiful people. Senia and Rafael de Leon have had a very difficult year, travelling to Brazil for 2 surgeries and taking time off work, dealing with the medical system and doctors not properly diagnosing Senia’s obscure illness and debilitating pain. She finally sourced out a neurologist who diagnosed her with Eagle Syndrome and was able to remove the bone that was causing all of the problems and give her back her life. This wonderful, resilient family is touched and grateful for all of the love and kindness that have received from so many people around Steinbach, Marchand and at The Twisted Root. They wanted me to thank everyone who purchased tickets for the meat draw and the auction at the Halloween social, and those who donated prizes, and to Curtis Funk who passed his first place prize of the $300 meat package on to them.
Senia is recovering and gaining strength, improving every day. She is happy and relieved to not be in constant pain.
Thanks to everyone who supported this fundraiser. ❤️
