But the truth is there is a magic that happens at camp
That must be felt.

The inner child healing at the talent show, with roars of applause, sing-alongs and dance parties.
The quiet night chats with cabin mates still awake, or in the dark passing voyage to the bathroom.
The bubbling energy of love from strangers that know your name, wear your art, or remember the story you once told around a campfire.
When being held looks like simply saying ‘ok’,
soft mornings over coffee and gentle weaving connections.

✨ As the leaves gently fall around us we are already dreaming up what we want our winter to feel like …

… q***r joy, connection around a campfire, a place to sit, stay and slow down together; during our hibernation season.

I was looking at the golden sunset in my review, when a thought, “I’m going the wrong way,” had me turn my car around. The following week I left my career, apartment and city life, moved to the beach to live in my trailer and work at The June Motel.

I spent two summers hosting guests on their best days of their year, rather than seeing people at their worst days in my previous career.

I spent my days bathing in the waters, grounding on the land and basking in the abundance of nature. I took deep rest in the winter; and a year later AQC was born.

Join me (Jessie) and Kat this hibernation season for a June motel getaway, to join please fill out the interest form for more details and directions of our beautiful hibernation weekend away.

✨ Somewhere between “perfect planning” and “holy s**t, there’s food for 200 q***rs,” something truly magical happened. ✨

Our VolunQUEER Chefs showed up with open hearts, creative minds and ZERO PREP TIME, and somehow turned a camp kitchen into a feast.

To the hands that chopped, stirred, seasoned, shucked and diced: thank you ♥️

Here’s to the chefs who fed camp, the volunteers that made it possible and our hungry little camp community that gathered around the tables together.

🌲AQC is proud to be a community partner 🌲

Join us on a magical journey of self-discovery through the dark, damp woods and treacherous terrain inhabited by q***r friends, lovers, spectral voices, and park rangers alike. Enter landscapes both hyperlocal (shout outs to Hamilton, Ontario) and fantastic (your vampire bestie’s girlfriend, aka the moon) to question nature and what is allowed to be natural. Through an abundance of humour and sensory details, these films ground us in our bodies and encourage us to reclaim the environments often policed by malicious forces, both supernatural and real life.
After the screening, we’ll sit down with the eponymous filmmakers and stars of Gabby and Eleanor Go Up and Down the Mountain to chat about bike (mis)adventures, scraped hands, and inside jokes.

✨🌲 Peace out summer season; 2026 you were amazing! New places, new faces, new opportunities and adventures brought to camp 🏕️

Our last minute campers bringing the vibes, road trips to share campfire stories, friends building villages and others making memories; we are obsessed with it all.

Thank you for being rad ass humxns who wanted to hang in the trees with a few friends looking for friends.
