🐢 It’s that time of year 🐢
Turtle nesting is under way around the campsite. When we are lucky enough to catch the mommas nesting, and when she is gone a nest cover is placed over top to protect the eggs from rodents for a week or so. Tonight was a busy nesting night around the campsite.

The Navan Jammers have been frequenting the campsite for years. We welcome the group of talented musicians who jam daily and welcome the campers to sit in and enjoy the music. 🎶 Until next time 🎶

École secondaire catholique Pierre-Savard students have joined us for a camping weekend. The students biked 60+K from Barrhaven Friday and today will complete a similar bike ride thru North Augusta. Sunday will close with another long ride before heading home. Always a pleasure to host the students and their teachers.

Happy Ending!
Two of our young campers rescued a small bird in distress that they found entangled in fishing line on the north side of the lock, opposite the campsite. They brought the bird and the branch back to the campsite and worked to carefully cut away the fishing line that was wrapped around its tail and feet. He sat in her hand a moment or two to say thank you and then flew off.
A campers job is never done!!

Single Kayak —
$20 for 1 hour, $30 for 2 hours and $10 for each additional hour

Double Kayak or Canoe —
$30 for 1 hour, $45 for 2 hours, and $10 for each additional hour

The Kawartha stopped in Merrickville on the way back from Ottawa. Two regular campers were on board and popped in for a visit.
