Vera celebrated her 100th Birthday 🎂

The campsite had a very special young lady Vera, celebrating her 100th birthday this weekend. During the day, campers sang “Happy Birthday” . Vera joined the campers for a few more songs—and even wanted to dance!

Of course, a camper was happy to make that happen. When her family arrived, they were pleasantly surprised to find their mom and grandmother dancing and enjoying herself.

It was the campers pure pleasure to help make her 100th birthday a truly special and memorable one!

The big question today, what is this, is it a bee?? Nope, it is a Hummingbird Clearwing Moth (Hemaris thysbe). You never know what you will see around the campground. One of mother natures creations.

Today the Kayak for Cancer group arrived in Merrickville. The campground is happy to host the group providing access to the campsite facilities while staying overnight in the village before continuing on their way to Ottawa. Kayak for Cancer has just hit 1 million dollars in fundraising over the past 26 years. Congratulations to this amazing group! More pics in the comments.

Did you know the Rideau River Migratory Bird Sanctuary starts in Merrickville and spans 5.6k along the Rideau River.
Along the campsite this weekend campers enjoyed loons fishing and feeding their babies, such a beautiful site.

Today was a hot day at the campsite. It was decided it was best to deliver the Canada Day cake to the guest. Cake delivery was a hit! ❤️🇨🇦❤️
