Passion For Quilling

Passion For Quilling Designing, and Making Beautiful Creations using Paper Quilling Quilling has been around since the Renaissance age.

Quilling or paper filigree is the art of rolling thin strips of paper into different shapes and using the shapes to form designs. Quillings' main concept involves the use of a hatpin, rolling fingers, or quilling tools to roll paper into desired shapes. Multiple shapes are rolled individually and then connected to one another to construct a final shape or design. Finishing touches are then made to

add to the beauty of the piece and to secure it in place. These finishing touches might include using acid free matte board or shadow box framing. Quilling was first created in monasteries by monks and nuns using the frayed edges of bibles. It is known that King Henry III's Daughter Princess Elizabeth Decorated boxes and trinkets with Quilling. And so it became highly popular among the Upper Class. Quilling died down after the Victorian period to only a handful of people to keep the art Alive. I am one of a few people across the world who wish to keep this beautiful ancient artwork alive! Although much has changed over time the basic Steps in Quilling have stayed the same. Enjoy the beauty of ancient art brought back to life!
