STILL ON VIEW — We're Here, We're Q***r, We're Fabulous by Maureen Bradley & Danielle Comeau

We're Here, We're Q***r, We're Fabulous documents the aftermath of Sexgarage, a Montréal warehouse party raided by police in July 1990.

Through a chronological account of the protests, arrests and the large march that followed, the 27-minute documentary captures an important moment of LGBTQ+ community mobilization in Montréal.

Two works exploring memory, resistance, inherited knowledge and resilience.

In an inheritance / a threat / a haunting, Nnebe revisits the use of cassava poison as an act of resistance. In We Have the Cure, she brings this history into the present, transforming long, decorated nails and the ritual of the manicure into symbols of resistance, protection and care.

MORE TIME TO DISCOVER — Savage by Lisa Jackson

A six-minute film by Lisa Jackson , Savage takes us to the late 1950s, as a young Indigenous girl is taken from her home and brought to a residential school.

Moving unexpectedly between tenderness, anger and musical comedy, the work speaks about separation, memory and an experience in which childhood is suddenly interrupted.

Last chance to discover "To Soften Our Fall" by Katherine Melançon

As Seeds of R/Evolution approaches exhibition curated by Cheryl Sim its final weeks at SonoLux, there’s still time to discover Katherine Melançon’s .art 40-minute video artwork To Soften Our Fall, with an original soundtrack by MUE, Leon Lo and Catherine Debard.

Presented in the SonoLux lobby, the work unfolds in three tableaux, travelling from the river to the forest through close-up images of plants, minerals and traces of insects - an homage to Québec’s landscapes, biodiversity and environmental memory.

Usually on view: 10 AM–12 PM, 4–6 PM and 12–2 AM.
Hours may change depending on hotel and restaurant operations. If the work isn’t playing, simply ask our team to project it for you or call ahead so we can better prepare your visit.

Seeds of R/Evolution is on view until October 1, 2026.

Présentée dans le lobby de SonoLux, l’œuvre se déploie en trois tableaux, du fleuve à la forêt, à travers des images rapprochées de plantes, de minéraux et de traces d’insectes - un hommage aux paysages, à la biodiversité et à la mémoire environnementale du Québec.

Habituellement présentée : 10 h–12 h, 16 h–18 h et minuit–2 h.
