Day 2 of Fall Flavors: Embrace the Harvest was absolute autumn perfection!
The sun was shining, a gentle breeze rustled the crisp fall leaves, and the stage was set for a day filled with mindfulness, nature, and incredible food connections on Canada's Food Island (PEI)
Here is a look at our unforgettable second day together:
Morning Ease & Mindful Starts: Guests enjoyed a peaceful breakfast in bed, waking and moving entirely at their own pace. We then gathered in the yoga yurt for an introduction to mindfulness paired with gentle, grounding movement.
Hands-On Kitchen Workshops: Next, we moved to the Beehive for a series of plant-based cooking sessions! Guests learned how to craft two distinct plant-based cheeses, built a vibrant roasted squash salad with toasted pepitas and maple-infused walnuts, and explored a variety of unique culinary salts, including tasting local P.E.I. salts made right here on the island!
Forest Foraging & Trail Walks: Guided by Kate MacQuarrie Kate MacQuarrie from Untamed PEI, we explored our forest trails, discovering edible and medicinal plants alongside an incredible abundance of fall mushrooms popping up along the paths.
Afternoon Your Way: Guests embraced true retreat mode of choose your own adventure. Half the group chose to unwind with naps, good books, and hammock surfing, while the other half joined Jarrod on St. Peter’s Lake to take in the vibrant fall foliage and local bird life from the water.
An Island-Inspired Feast: Chef Cory Johnston, owner of The Golden Dory and instructor at the Culinary Institute of Canada treated us to a show-stopping dinner. The menu featured fresh-caught North Shore bluefin tuna, local P.E.I. mussels, tender P.E.I. beef, an unforgettable potato pavé, and a divine island-inspired dessert.
A Cozy Evening Finish: We wrapped up this dream day around a crackling bonfire, sharing laughs, stories, and the pure joy of connecting with nature and new friends under the stars.
Our hearts (and bellies) are so full!
