The rumours are true! As of October 28th, The Olde Anchor Bed & Breakfast is officially under new ownership. ⚓️

We’re thrilled to be passing the torch to Marie Cummings — we know she’ll do great things with the place! Wishing her all the best as she makes her mark on this beloved spot.

We’re so grateful to our incredible community and to all of our guests for your support over the years. 💙 Hope you’ll stop by and introduce yourselves to Marie — she’s got some exciting plans ahead!

🍏 Apple Bread with a Story 🍞

Ever wonder where the inspiration came from for our Apple Bread French Toast?
When owner Mary was just 14, her very first job was at The Big Apple Restaurant in Colborne, Ontario. She earned $2.25 an hour—spending her first year upstairs in the restaurant and the next year downstairs in the bakery, helping make apple pies and apple bread. Every baked item on the menu came straight from that bustling bakery.

Fast forward to today: Mary has passed the bread-making torch to our talented friend and baker Greg, who now creates this stellar apple bread for us. One bite and you’ll see why we knew it would make the perfect French toast. 🥞✨

Come taste a slice of nostalgia—served warm and full of memories.

It’s a true Island harvest kind of morning! 🍇 We’re gathering grapes straight from our own backyard and simmering a batch of peach barbecue sauce with fresh PEI peaches. From the vine to the jar, everything stays wonderfully local—because on Prince Edward Island, nothing is ever far. 💜

⚓️ Here’s a little peek behind the scenes — it’s Mary making fresh blueberry jam in our kitchen at The Olde Anchor B&B. 💙 All of our berries come from right here on the Island, and we love keeping things as homemade and local as possible. From our bacon and sausage to our jams, breakfast here is made with care and a whole lot of love.

🌍✈️ We've noticed a big uptick in guests from overseas this year at The Olde Anchor B&B — and we’re loving every minute of it!

Our most recent guests arrived all the way from Germany, and they reminded us of something we’ve learned from our international visitors…

Not everyone loves air conditioning,
Many prefer milk over cream in their coffee,
Some don’t understand the love for pancakes at breakfast (but we’re working on them 😄).

It’s always a joy to learn the little things that make each culture unique — and we’re happy to adapt and share a bit of PEI hospitality in return.
