Some awesome times @ Camp this spring!
22 Sparks and Brownies enjoyed a PEI Area ‘Survivor’ themed Camp this past weekend. The girls were put into tribes and the competition began!
They had fun designing their own bandana and making up a tribe chant on Friday evening. Saturday began with a hearty breakfast and then a session of Rookie Rugby with PEI Rugby. The girls had a blast playing games and learning how to pass the ball to one another.
Keeping with the Survivor theme the girls had many challenges to complete. These included an obstacle course, sack races, a food challenge (which included drinking swamp juice and eating bugs in a blanket whilst blind folded – yum!) Further challenges included listing instructions on how to make a jelly sandwich, a tarp challenge and a search for the beads in a bucket of sloppy food.
The afternoon was spent following trail signs to eventually end up at the beach where everyone spent some time collecting shells, making sand castles and generally having fun on a beautiful day. The next challenge was a puzzle challenge and each tribe had to find the correct puzzle pieces for their tribe and put it together. This was done with great enthusiasm and energy!
There were two immunity idols hidden at camp and the girls had a great time looking for them.
The end of the afternoon was spent looking for items for a nature scavenger hunt.
After supper the girls did skits, sang songs and entertained the leaders and their fellow Sparks and Brownies.
Sunday morning the girls packed up and headed home tired but happy! Thanks to all the leaders who were a part of this camp and special thanks to Pam who organized the fun event.
We all survived “Survivor Camp’!
