I, Katrina was out at camp yesterday afternoon. And we have a lot of trees down. There are 6 just on the power lines, several in the middle of camp that did not hit the buildings. And one tree went through the metal roof in spots. The bridge to the chapel is in pieces as the water came up 12 feet into the bankment.

The path to the beach is littered with trees. We are going to need chain saws and help to clean up this mess.

On Sunday, I am asking everyone who is available. Leaders, dads, grandparents, girls, etc to come out and help.

There are a few trees that are fallen but tangled in the other trees that will be tricky to come down. Shelley Mcdonald is looking into finding a professional to come in and do those trees.

Hawaiian Luau Camp!

Sherwood Brownies had a whole load of fun at their Hawaiian Luau themed camp this past weekend.
The girls made leis and flowery head bands and beautiful photo frames. They danced to Hawaiian music, did limbo dancing and joined in other fun dancing at their dance party. They danced to the ‘macarena’, the 'cha cha slide’ and the highland fling too!
They ate tropical fruit and enjoyed some wonderful camp food!
On Saturday morning they played Rookie Rugby and despite the damp weather also enjoyed a lovely beach walk.
The girls completed a scavenger hunt and several challenges including the tarp challenge, obstacle races. Potato sack races and a hula hoop competition.
On a hot and sunny Sunday morning they packed up and left for home – tired but happy! 

Some awesome times @ Camp this spring!

22 Sparks and Brownies enjoyed a PEI Area ‘Survivor’ themed Camp this past weekend. The girls were put into tribes and the competition began!
They had fun designing their own bandana and making up a tribe chant on Friday evening. Saturday began with a hearty breakfast and then a session of Rookie Rugby with PEI Rugby. The girls had a blast playing games and learning how to pass the ball to one another.
Keeping with the Survivor theme the girls had many challenges to complete. These included an obstacle course, sack races, a food challenge (which included drinking swamp juice and eating bugs in a blanket whilst blind folded – yum!) Further challenges included listing instructions on how to make a jelly sandwich, a tarp challenge and a search for the beads in a bucket of sloppy food.
The afternoon was spent following trail signs to eventually end up at the beach where everyone spent some time collecting shells, making sand castles and generally having fun on a beautiful day. The next challenge was a puzzle challenge and each tribe had to find the correct puzzle pieces for their tribe and put it together. This was done with great enthusiasm and energy!
There were two immunity idols hidden at camp and the girls had a great time looking for them.
The end of the afternoon was spent looking for items for a nature scavenger hunt.
After supper the girls did skits, sang songs and entertained the leaders and their fellow Sparks and Brownies.
Sunday morning the girls packed up and headed home tired but happy! Thanks to all the leaders who were a part of this camp and special thanks to Pam who organized the fun event.
We all survived “Survivor Camp’!
