From all of us here at Banting Historical Trust, we would like to wish you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving! ❤️

Today is a day to reflect on the things we appreciate, big and small, and to enjoy time with the people who make life special. We hope your day is filled with good company, good food, and plenty of laughter!

Of course, unless you’re a turkey… then you might have a slightly different opinion about Thanksgiving! 😂🦃

Good morning from Musgrave Harbour, Newfoundland!😉☕

Well we can't blame our southern neighbours for this one.🙌 You can, however, thank them for the warm winds.☺️ Atlantic visitors like Fiona, Ernesto, and Melissa come to mind when you see the trees whipping and windows pounded by rain. Nope...this one grew right here over Eastern Canada rather than evolving from a named tropical depression. Maybe we should call it 'Paddy' or 'Gale'? I hope the water isn't dampening your spirit as thunderstorms threaten the afternoon here in Central.

📷Sunrise over Banting Park, September 4th. She broke through the low cloud right at the horizon, sending a burst of rosy light while a wave rolled up the sands. Some mornings Ma Nature just shows off a little, and this was one of them.

I'll catch you next time...keep yer powder dry!😆🎸

A HUGE THANK YOU to our Banting Historical Trust & Recreation students — Maddie, Makayla, Sarah, Katie, Claire, Jorja, Tyson, Laila and Ethan! 👏👏👏

You survived the heat 🥵, the rain 🌧️, the wind 💨, the crazy days, the never ending list of jobs and probably heard “When’s the last time ya’s cleaned the washrooms? Or who wants to do the kids program this weekend” More times that you care to remember!

You worked hard, helped our campers, kept things moving and tackled whatever was thrown your way. And believe us… a lot was thrown your way! 🤣

You became part of the Banting family this summer, and we are so thankful for every single one of you. ❤️

Now it’s time to put away the rubber gloves & paint brushes and grab those backpacks and head back to school! 📚✏️

🚨 NOT fit! NOT fit out even for a duck or a goose! 🦆🪿😂

Well folks, I’ve made a decision… I’ve decided to leave Banting a little earlier than planned. The suitcase is packed, the feathers are fluffed, and I’ve filed my flight plan to fly south for the winter! ☀️🧳🌴

It’s been a honkin’ good summer, but this goose knows when it’s time to head somewhere a little warmer! 😉

To all my Banting peeps, I’ll miss you terribly, but I’ll see you all next summer! ❤️

Until then… stay warm, stay fabulous, and remember…

🚨CLOSED for the season!!

Due to the weather today and the forecast for tomorrow we have made the decision to close our gate to the public today instead of tomorrow. 🌧️

With the conditions we’re experiencing, both the beach and pond areas are simply too unsafe to access, and safety has to come first and it isn’t exactly I’d like to go for a swim in the ocean kind of day 😂

If anyone is on the road today however and would like a safe spot to spend the night we’ve got space for you. The gate will be pulled across, however it will not be locked until tomorrow.

Just like that… another season has comes to an end. 💙

A HUGE thank you to each and every person who supported us this season! whether you camped with us, spent a day at the beach, attended an event, stopped by to visit, or simply followed along and cheered us on. Fun fact!! We have our very own cheer squad at Banting…… The Banting Belles and we have super fans as well 🙂 we are always taking applications for new members! We appreciate every single one of you more than you know. ❤️

Despite Mother Nature throwing plenty our way this summer, you all helped make it another incredible season at Banting! 🏕️☀️🌊

My thinking cap is already on for 2027… because there’s no such thing as too early to start planning! BUT who am I kidding my brain does not stop😉😂

Have a wonderful fall, stay safe, keep warm this winter, and we’ll see you all next season! 🥰

Wellllll… this is DEFINITELY NOT a beach day! 😂🌬️🏖️

Although, we do have a few brave souls out there who apparently didn’t get the memo! 😂 Hats off to you, folks! 👏 Seriously though a hat did blow our way if your missing one you can find it at our registrations shack 😝

It sure is a GREAT kite flying day, though! 🪁🤣 When Mother Nature hands you wind, you fly a kite, right?! It’s all about perspective and making the best of whatever she throws at us. ❤️

And believe it or not, this is our LAST WEEKEND of the season! 😭 We’ve had quite a few cancellations because of the weather, so if you’re on the road tonight and looking for somewhere to get off the road, we’ve got space! 🚐⛺️

Come on over, get settled in and ride out the wind with us! 😉
