Cody and I (Mitch) would like to extend a sincere THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us and contributed to the success of our unique, boutique style bed & breakfast here in beautiful Muskoka. Bartwood Manor has offered locals and the traveling public a place to rest their heads since 1887. Our dream to revive this old manor has come with many hurdles and a lot of sacrifice (quite literally blood, sweat & tears). 5 years ago, our dream came true, we achieved our goal and opened our doors to you. We have genuinely enjoyed the journey and all of the amazing people we've had the privilege of meeting. With that being said, unfortunately, due to recent changes in local bylaws and "red tape," we have come to the difficult decision to permanently close Bartwood Manor - Guest House.

Thank you again, for the many memories!

Mitch, Cody, Newt & the rest of our pet family ❀️

We are so excited to announce that our mother hen (chicken) has successfully hatched out 4 cute little puffballs (Indian Runner Ducklings). They are currently 4 days old. We couldn't love them more, and it's quite clear how much they love us! I mean, just look at them! How can you not melt when you see these like faces??
We had some very happy guests (human πŸ˜…) who were able to give them some extra loving!!

We were so fortunate to spot this Red Eyed Vireo while walking through Port Carling yesterday. Both parents care for the young, so this could be either Mom or Dad. You may notice that one of the babies looks much larger than the others. In Ontario, there are a few different species of birds that lay their eggs in the nest of other birds. I'll leave the rest for you to Google!πŸ˜…

After months of easing into it, I'm happy to announce that Bonnie (Flemish Giant - Grey) and Lint (Netherland Dwarf - Fluff) are officially bonded! Bonnie had some walls up, but after some therapy, she's accepting others into her life with open "arms" πŸ˜‚ Seriously though, it's so nice to see these two finally loving each other!

The past two days we've had some exciting new visitors to our garden. The first was a beautiful Monarch Butterfly. While recording, I noticed she seemed to have deposited an egg onto one of our many milkweed plants. On closer inspection, I found the egg placed right into the undeveloped flower head! Later that night, we were blessed with the most beautiful Luna Moth I've ever seen!! Just for the record, handling butterflies and moths can harm them, so it's not recommended. After carefully placing him in a safe spot, we turned off the outdoor lights to allow him to "do his thing" πŸ˜… I'm sure all of you nature lovers out there can understand how exciting the is for us! πŸ€“πŸ₯³

Have an amazing day, everyone!
