Hummingbird Respite Care Services is Hiring:
A Permanent Part-time Position is available, as well as a Casual Position!
3 Hours - 4 Evenings a week - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday Evenings - 15 hours a week guaranteed
Potential for full-time hours when I have clients in my home for Respite Care, at Ann's Garden Oasis:

Health Care Aid/Companion Job Description:
Supporting Adult and Senior Clients through various aspects of daily living. These clients may be elderly, have disabilities, be recovering from surgery, or have Alzheimer’s/dementia.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Spending time with and talking to clients, helping them with their basic needs, communicating with family members or other caregivers or professionals about their physical, mental or spiritual status
Interacting with clients to help with their social needs
Using Validation Techniques to support clients with Alzheimer's/Dementia
Assisting clients with activities such as eating and grooming
Planning social activities and ensuring clients can keep up with their hobbies and other enjoyable activities
Assisting clients to write letters or cards, doing crafts or other activities that the client enjoys
Performing routine chores such as cooking, dishes, cleaning, clothes washing, bed making, dusting, vacuuming and other housekeeping duties
Ensuring clients maintain their medical routine and use the right medications if trained to do so.
Supporting clients with their emotional and spiritual health
Run errands such as shopping for groceries, and other needed items, driving to appointments or outside of home activities.
Monitoring the Health and Wellness of Clients, and communicating any changes to the supervisor and families of the clients as requested
Delegated Tasks - Assisting Clients with their medications
Skills needed
Excellent interpersonal skills to bond with residents
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Keen attention to details to monitor residents
Excellent customer service skills
Experience using Validation Techniques
Experience with individuals that have Alzheimer's/Dementia
Ability to perform basic home care tasks
Ability to provide basic first aid or CPR
Empathy and a caring attitude
Valid driver’s licence needed with appropriate insurance to transport clients
