Hello from Wine Country.
Many have asked how Sharon and I are managing through COVID. Well I could not think of a better place to ride it out than NOTL, one of Canada’s prettiest towns. See photos from around town.
It was a wonderful opportunity to spend some quality time with friends and family as we blocked our calendar off for several months. The garden continues to evolve, and we put in a vegetable garden which was very rewarding.
Since the Shaw Festival recently released their 2021 program calendar we have been taking bookings over the busy summer season. Book soon for prime time performances.
Since our B&B experience is a social one, keeping guests distanced is difficult. We are open and encouraging family or friends to book all 3 rooms for a NOTL two day getaway as it solves distancing issues.

Wonderful culinary experience last evening at Backhouse Restaurant. An easy 15 minute walk from Wine Country. If you have not been I recommend checking it out. Great local food served with passion.

We are well into the doldrums of February, but on the positive side Valentine’s Day weekend is coming up. Here is an idea in support of a good time, and supporting local business.

If booking a two night stay this weekend we’ll provide a 30 minute horse carriage ride around historic Niagara-on-the-Lake from Sentineal Carriages, or a bottle of wine in your room from Reif Estate Winery.

Note: For carriage tours, the condition is I must book in advanced. The carriage seats 6 adults so there my next others joining in for the fun.

Weekends are often booked around here. That said, don’t overlook mid week stays. Check out the Vintage hotel specials. Reasonable date night opportunities. Also a plug for the Sunday night roast beef dinners with dessert for $20 at the Angel Inn. Yumm yumm!

It’s Tuesday so we are walking over to the Pillar & Post for all you can eat mussels. Door to door 45 seconds!

We are booked next weekend. But there are opportunities beyond.

Another beautiful day here in Niagara-on-the-Lake. For those of you from out of region, province, or out of country the leaves are changing colour here as well. Look see...

Can’t believe it’s August tomorrow. We have had the most amazing guests!

What’s new in the neighbourhood....

Our neighbours at the Piller (two doors down) are putting in a garden. Approximately 340 large trees, followed by 21,000 shrubs. Some of the large trees started arriving today. The chestnut which arrived this AM was 52,000 pounds, 45 years old, and was escorted as a wide load. Massive project which will continue into the fall.

Our good neighbours next door have replaced the remainder of the cedar shake roof. Looking sharp!

And the vacant lot across the road is finally being prepared for some new homes.

Jeff and John have been extremely supportive through the transition. Outside of unpacking and so on we are BAU.

It was a beautiful evening on the golf course tonight.
