I hope everyone is enjoying a beautiful Sunday afternoon! 🌞
It’s starting to feel like summer is on its way..gardens are growing, the apple tree has started to flower( the sound of the bees is incredible🐝), the lawn has been mowed for the first time, campfire wood has been delivered and the dock is in!!
Thanks so much to the team at Shoreline Property Maintenance for all that they do here - extra thanks to Dwayne for getting the dock in today. 🫶🏼☀️
Big thanks to Scott Millar from Manitoulin Odds & Sods (the best handy person) for all the work he’s done here over the years and for coming out last Saturday morning to do the dock repair. 🌊💨😬
Thanks also to Kyle Smith for the great firewood, he’s got serious dump trailer skills. 🪵 and everyone at Wahl Water for keeping the wet stuff flowing! 💧💧

Happy Victoria Day weekend!! It’s a gorgeous day here 🥰 and the arrival of these sweeties tells me that spring is ( mostly) here! The big birds and the squirrels are adjusting to their feeder being moved LOL. ☀️🐿️🌸🐦‍⬛

Just when you’re ready to give up , a true sign arrives! I was so happy to find this solitary crocus just now♥️
Snow is melting - YAY! But we’ve had some pretty serious rain on top of the melt which has resulted in some very serious flooding all over the island.
Several communities have declared states of emergency 🥹This winter clean up will definitely take a little longer than usual 🤗🤗

The Island is home to so much wildlife, and I'm grateful to have had some really special experiences. I believe that nature doesn't have to reveal itself to us, and when it does, it's a gift. Even though this beautiful property is my home and my business, I consider myself a steward, and I care deeply about the land and its inhabitants. Some of those are more camera shy than others (I'm looking at you, wolves, coyotes, bears, lynx, mountain lions, foxes, and fishers..), and I'm happy that we have a covenant that keeps them healthy and safe. That said, here are some pics of visitors that I have been able to snap, including one of my neighbour's pup coming to ask if Baz can come out to play!! ❤❤

The night sky is perfection here - see the milky way with the naked eye, look for satellites, meteor showers and shooting stars. Whatever your fancy - it seems like the whole island is a dark sky preserve. But when all the things fall into place and the northern lights happen...I honestly don't have the words to describe the experience.
I had never seen the aurora until I came here and I wanted to share some of my favourite photos with you. These pics were taken by me (Christina), here at Green Bay Lodge, May & October 2024 and September 2025.🪐💫🌙⭐️
