Good morning from Lake Couchiching...

Two months ago we posted about the momma snapping turtle that laid her eggs along the roadway leading into the resort.

Today, we are excited to share that the babies have hatched! START Turtle Restoration Program contacted us last evening to let us know that 49 of the 51 eggs had safely hatched under their amazing care and they were now ready to be released back to their natural habitat here on Lake Couchiching.

What an amazing moment to be part of as these little hatchling were introduced right back to their original nesting location and placed into our beautiful bay!
