And just like that… Sunbury Oromocto Park is officially closed for the 2026 season. 🥹🌲
Last Monday marked our final day open to the public, and as always, we gave our seasonal campers one extra week to pack up, enjoy those last few days and say goodbye to another summer at the park. Yesterday was their official last day, which means today we can finally say it:

What. A. Year.
This was our first full season as the official owners of Sunbury Oromocto Park, and when we look back at everything that happened between May and September, it’s honestly hard to believe we fit it all into one summer.
We had washer toss tournaments, craft n snack, kids’ activities, bonfires, karaoke, Halloween and Christmas, paddling on the lake, community events, long summer days, busy weekends, private parties, countless projects and improvements — and even our very first Sunbury Shores Music Festival. 🎶
Dalton and I poured everything we had into this season, but there is absolutely no way we could have done it alone.
A very special thank you has to go to my brother, Jacob, who volunteered more hours than we could ever count. He was here constantly — helping with projects, events, maintenance and whatever random idea we happened to come up with that day. 😂 So much of what we accomplished this summer simply would not have been possible without him.
And to our summer intern, Kierem — thank you for being one of the most reliable, hardworking and capable people we could have asked to have on our team. No matter what we threw his way, he picked it up incredibly quickly and just figured it out. Having someone we could genuinely rely on made an enormous difference this season, and we are so grateful for everything he contributed.
To my grandparents — Grandpa, thank you for showing up week after week to mow and help us stay ahead of the never-ending battle that is maintaining this property in the summer. 😂 And Grandma, thank you for stepping in to “babysit the business” whenever we needed to be somewhere else and for always being someone we knew we could call when we needed an extra set of hands.
And then there are all of the people who jumped in along the way — our campers, friends, family and volunteers. Whether you helped with Canada Day, ran a washer toss tournament, hosted something for your fellow campers, helped with an event, lent us a hand on a busy day or simply asked, “What can I do?” — thank you.
Because at the end of the day, you can build a campground, but it takes a community to make it feel like one. 🤍
We had a lot of big ideas for our first year, and somehow, with a whole lot of work and a whole lot of help, we got to watch so many of them become reality.
Thank you to every camper, visitor, volunteer, friend and family member who was part of our 2026 season. We are incredibly proud of what this little park is becoming — and we already have plenty of ideas brewing for 2027. 👀🌲
But while camping season may officially be over, things around here are far from finished… 💍🌿
