With grateful hearts. ❤️
A week ago, we shared that this is our home too, and that when our community needs us, our doors are open.
Today, our hearts are filled with gratitude.
To the wildfire crews working tirelessly on the front lines. To our First Responders, Emergency Support Services teams, volunteers and everyone working behind the scenes to protect and care for our community, thank you.
We know these have been long, difficult days, and we are immensely grateful for everything you continue to do.
We’re also grateful that so many of our neighbours who were evacuated have now been able to return home. There is something especially meaningful about those two words right now: GOING HOME.
At the same time, our hearts are with those who have lost their homes, and with those who remain displaced or have only recently been evacuated as the wildfire continues.
While Spirit Ridge remains safe and well away from the active fire, we are all part of the South Okanagan community, and when one part of our community is affected, we feel it throughout the region.
There is still work to be done. There are still people who need our help.
So let’s continue to show up for one another. Whether that means donating, volunteering, supporting the organizations doing important work, checking in on a neighbour, or simply extending a little extra kindness and understanding.
To everyone working on the front lines to protect those communities, and to everyone who has stepped forward to help, feed, comfort and care for those affected, we are so very grateful.
Here at Spirit Ridge, we’ll continue to do our part in the way we know best - opening our doors and providing a safe, welcoming place to stay for those who need it.
This is our home too. And once again, our community has shown us just how much those words mean. ❤️
