We are just happy to do our part. We are so proud to be part of the Bells Corners Community.

Alison from Hyatt Place Ottawa West was nominated to receive a Neighbour Award, for supporting neighbours in College Ward who experienced flooding on July 1st. She helped arrange emergency accommodations and spaces for folks to shower after the storm. Alison, thank you for putting your hand up to help our community!

All of the other Neighbour Awards have been sent out. Thank you for nominating so many members of our community!

’Twas the Night Before Ironman

‘Twas the night before Ironman, and all through the hotel,
A quiet excitement had settled in well.
The bikes were tucked safely, the race kits laid with care,
Tomorrow’s big challenge was almost here.

Our athletes were resting after months of dedication,
Dreaming of finish lines and sweet celebration.
With goggles and helmets all ready to go,
They hoped for calm waters and legs built to flow.

The hallways were quieter than most nights we see,
As alarms were all set for far too early.
Breakfasts were planned, water bottles filled tight,
Every small detail prepared just right.

Tomorrow you’ll swim, you’ll bike, and you’ll run,
One incredible journey, all rolled into one.
When the day feels long, remember what’s true—
You’ve already done the hard part getting here.

From all of us at the hotel, we’re cheering for you.
May your race be strong, your spirit shine through.
Sleep well tonight, and when morning is near,
We’ll be proud to say, “We were here for your Ironman year.”

Hyatt Place Ottawa West is opening its doors today to support our Bells Corners neighbours affected by yesterdays storm and power outages.

Today until 9pm, residents impacted by the current power outages in the Bells Corners area are welcome to stop by to:

- Charge phones and electronic devices
- Cool off in our air conditioned meeting room
- Access washroom facilities
- Access a quick shower (subject to availability)
Services are available on a first come first served basis and are subject to capacity.

To help us serve those who need it most, please check in at Front Desk and present:

- Government issued photo ID
- Proof of residence in the affected Bells Corners area
Children under 18 must remain with a parent or guardian at all times.

Our on-site restaurant, The Placery, is open for regular food and beverage service if you’d like to purchase a meal or refreshments during your visit. If you need accommodations for the evening, please speak with our Front Desk about room availability and current rates.

This community support space is available today only until 9pm. we will continue to assess community needs and share updates regarding additional availability on our social channels.
