From Ottawa to B.C., the message is getting louder: respect anti-scab laws and get back to the bargaining table. ✊
Thank you, MP Gord Johns for Courtenay-Alberni, for standing with Bank of Canada security officers.

Recently, I was proud to join PSAC - AFPC Local 71250, representing Bank of Canada security workers, on their picket line. These workers have been on strike for more than two months, fighting for fair parental leave and reasonable scheduling provisions. Yet less than a year after federal anti-scab legislation came into force, the Liberal government is standing by while replacement workers are being used to undermine their bargaining power.
This unacceptable, and it reflects a broader pattern of disrespect toward workers, unions and the right to collective bargaining. The government should put an end to the use of scab labour, enforce the anti-scab protections workers fought for, and ensure these workers are treated with the fairness and respect they deserve.
And at a time when this government is even considering measures that could weaken the right to strike, New Democrats will fight like hell to defend workers’ rights and make sure working people always have a strong voice in the halls of power.
