My Father started the North Bay Ski- Doo Club in 1962. Wondering if anyone with the North Bay Snowmobile Club would be interested in the Origional crest or a bit of the history. A.G. Melsom was the Ontario Bombardier distributor. Timberland based in Woodstock had been selling Bombardier tractors but passed on selling the Ski-Doo when it was introduced to Ontario. Timberland called it a toy and stated they were a logging company. Arthur Graham Melsom was the Timberland Sales rep for northern Ontario at the time and was offered the Ontario Distributorship due to Timberland’s lack of interest in the new Ski-Doo. Based in North Bay A.G Melsom Limited had established 64 dealers in it’s first year. The North Bay Ski-Doo Club was founded at that time and is without question the first and Oldest Snowmobile club in Ontario.
