Update - August 17, 2025. Open 9am-6pm.

A State of Emergency has been declared in Annapolis County due to the West Dalhousie wildfire situation. But... most communities, business and attractions in the region are still very much open for business and the main roads and highways are not affected at this time.
We can confirm that the Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens remains open daily and, in fact, today is a lovely blue sky day in Annapolis Royal.
Our hearts are with those whose properties are in danger, and our sincere appreciation to all the firefighters and other first responders. We are also very thankful for a fleet of 4 water bombers from the NWT who have arrived to help!

Dear Mountain Top guests,
Earlier this week, we were informed by the D.O.T. that road repair will begin on Parker Mountain Road Monday, July 14th and as a result the road will be closed.
Road repairs are expected to be completed by Friday, July 18th.
Due to this week long inconvenience, we wanted to inform our guests of alternate routes to arrive at Mountain Top.
The official detour is Hollow Mountain Road (dirt)
Our recommendation for reaching Mountain Top is the following route. If you are travelling on the 101 east or west, use exit 20 in Bridgetown. In Bridgetown, go right on the Hampton Mountain Road. At the end of the Hampton Mountain Road go west on Shore Road until you take a left onto Parker Mountain Road. Please see attached maps.
Amenities, like grocery stores, gas and alcohol during this time will be roughly a 30 minute drive away in Annapolis Royal or Bridgetown. Please plan accordingly during your stay.
If you have made reservations for a group please notify your group members.
If the road opens early, even to one lane traffic, we will let you know as soon as we do.

These new restrictions apply to private campgrounds as well. Please check before burning!

Effective May 16, campgrounds in Nova Scotia must follow daily burn restrictions that are in place to help prevent wildfires. These restrictions apply to campfires in provincial parks.

Open fires (like campfires) are not permitted between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. because that is often when the risk of wildfires is greatest. The BurnSafe map remains red during those hours every day.

Each day at 2 p.m., the map is updated to show the daily restrictions:

- red means burning is not permitted that day
- yellow means burning is permitted after 7 p.m.
- green means burning is permitted after 2 p.m.

It is important to check before you light a campfire. Campers can check daily burn restrictions via the BurnSafe map or by calling 1-855-564-2876 (BURN). They can also check with parks staff.

Devices such as gas stoves/barbeques and charcoal briquette barbeques can still be used any time, following manufacturers’ instructions.

Never leave a fire unattended. Always make sure your fire is fully extinguished before you go to bed or leave your campsite. All campfires must be out by 8 am the following day.

NOTE: Campfires and smoking are never allowed in day-use parks.
