We’re looking for an energetic, reliable, and customer-focused Park Operations Assistant to join our team in Peace River!

Whether you enjoy being outdoors keeping the grounds in top shape or welcoming guests in the office, this hybrid role offers the best of both worlds.

Position: Park Operations Assistant
Pay: CA$17.00 – CA$19.00
Location: Peace River, AB
Schedule:
Off-Season: Flexible mix of weekday and weekend shifts.
On-Season: Variable shifts including days, evenings, and weekends.

What You’ll Be Doing
In the Office: Welcoming guests, handling campground & storage reservations, managing U-Haul rentals, processing daily cash-outs, and sharing local tourism tips.
On the Grounds: General groundskeeping, operating yard equipment (mowing, trimming, seasonal snow removal), performing U-Haul trailer hook-ups, propane fills, and firewood deliveries.

What We’re Looking For:
Must currently reside in the Peace Region.
Friendly, outgoing, and articulate with great customer service skills.
Comfortable with physical outdoor work in all seasonal weather conditions.
Tech-savvy with basic computer skills.
Safety-minded and self-motivated.

-40 doesn’t care about your RV warranty. 🥶
6 winter storage tips most Peace Country RV owners learn the expensive way:
🛞 Park on wood, not dirt. Planks under the tires AND the tongue jack so nothing freezes in or sinks in spring mud. Then air up to max sidewall PSI. You’ll lose 10+ by January.
💨 Blow out or antifreeze? Air is easier, antifreeze is safer. Air can’t clear the pump, toilet valve or low spots, and those are what crack. Up here, do both: blow the lines at 30 to 40 PSI, then pink RV antifreeze through the pump, drains and toilet. Bypass the water heater first or you’ll waste 6 gallons on it.
🔋 A dead battery freezes around -7°C. Fully charged, it’s good past -50. Charge it and pull the negative cable, or better yet take it home. Lithium always goes home.
🔎 Spend 10 minutes on the roof. Check the sealant at every vent and seam. Hairline crack + meltwater + freeze/thaw = a leak by spring.
🌬️ Got vent covers? Crack a roof vent half an inch. A sealed-up RV traps moisture, and that’s the musty smell and mould you find in May. No covers? Keep it shut and leave a moisture absorber inside. Either way, skip the blue tarp. It traps moisture and sands your finish in the wind.
🐭 Pull ALL the food, including cans and pop (they burst) and anything scented. Prop the fridge open. Dryer sheets won’t stop a Peace Country mouse. He’ll just have a better smelling nest. Steel wool in every gap underneath will.
