A huge thank you to the Red Rooster Winery for hosting The Roost on Fire Fund Raiser for the Penticton Safety Village.
It was a perfect afternoon at the Winery....there was so much to do and enjoy! Children loved the month old goats, Cowboy and Angel brought by Andy's Animal Acres plus the Safety Village debuted their new bouncy castle. The support of the Penticton Fire Department, local businesses and lots of community minded people made the afternoon a roaring success!
Thank you to everyone who visited the winery to taste the fabulous wine, feasted on the food, took in the sweeping valley views and supported the Safety Village!

On Friday we went kayaking to our favourite spots on Okanagan Lake. It was so calm, sunny and warm. The Casabello Princess came past when we were pulling our kayaks out of the lake. It was September 12th and we went swimming! I love September!

Join us for our Annual Charity Picnic
Help us raise $10,000 for the Penticton Safety Village

We invite you to join us at the winery on Saturday, September 20th as we partner with the Penticton Fire Department for an exciting family-fun fundraising picnic.

The Penticton Safety Village provides important safety education and awareness to our children on bicycle safety, rules of the road and how to handle emergencies. Unfortunately, this non-profit organization does not receive the much needed funding required to continue its programs each year. We need your help!

Our picnic in the vineyard will feature a delicious lunch for only $15 per person while you and your family enjoy outdoor games, a petting zoo, and safety demonstrations by the fire department. Wine by the glass or bottle and sparkling fruit juice will be available and proceeds from the day will go to the Penticton Safety Village.

I am so pleased with how the garden at Red Rose Cottage is coming a long this summer. All of the little perennials that we planted in April are growing and blossoming!

I needed an ice cream cone on Monday evening! We walked down to Okanagan Lake and came across the new bench in honour of Ken Patton the founder of the Peach City Cruise.

On Sunday morning we had a quick pedal out along the KVR and came across this little fruit stand just north of Poplar Grove on Naramata Road. The fellow puts out fruit and veggies. People can pay by donation and enjoy a tree ripened peach on their ride or walk. I filled up my bike bag and have loved eating a peach every morning this week!

My friends took me stand up paddle boarding as a treat for my summer birthday. It was so much fun! I have been wanting to do this for the past few summers....I was worried that I would never get back on the board if I fell off! No need to worry I just slithered onto the board and once I found my balance again I was able to stand up! No photos of this fun morning but check out Sun N' Sup on Robinson Street in Naramata. I thought this was so cool! One of our guests with her two daughters visited so many places (wineries, stand up paddle boarding, visitor centres) and collected their beads. This was the mom's bracelet after 6 days in the sunny Okanagan.
