Tostado con tomate with ham. This is a new breakfast dish that I made for my guests this morning. It’s been wonderful to hear so many different languages around the table-German, Spanish, French, Belgian, and they all knew about this dish and encouraged me to make it. Purée tomato with garlic., avocados, ham with a poached egg perched on top. All of this on toast with olive oil and garlic. I was so excited to serve that I forgot to take the finished dish, but this is close enough. It was a wonderful weekend at Lilac Lane despite Sunday’s rain.

Sunday afternoon roundup at Lilac Lane. The lavender smells beautiful and is so vibrant, and the gardens are alive with colour. The squash patch knows no bounds and the tomatoes and zucchini are coming. I love this time of year. Come for a stay at Lilac Lane and try some of the splendour.

Canadian pianist Jeremy Ledbetter is a fiery, passionate performer whose music knows no boundaries. His compositions are wildly creative and deeply emotional. At Ledbetter’s hands, the piano roars, whispers, cries, and laughs, telling stories as only he can, evoking cinematic images in the listeners’ minds.

The Jeremy Ledbetter Trio’s second album, “Gravity”, has taken the jazz world by storm, racking up a JUNO Award for Jazz Album of the Year, the title “Best in Canadian Jazz” from Jazz FM91, and over a million streams worldwide. Jeremy is joined by Grammy-winning drummer Larnell Lewis (Snarky Puppy) and renowned electric bassist Rich Brown (Steve Coleman’s Five Elements), who offer the perfect counterpart to Ledbetter’s iconoclastic energy at the piano.
