☀️ How to Stay Cool While Camping in the Heat 🏕️💦

Hot summer days are perfect for camping—as long as you know how to beat the heat! Here are a few simple tips to help you stay comfortable during your stay:

💧 Stay hydrated – Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.

🧢 Seek shade – Relax under your awning, canopy, or a shady tree during the hottest part of the afternoon.

👕 Wear light clothing – Light-coloured, loose-fitting clothing helps keep you cooler.

🕶️ Take breaks from the sun – Plan activities for the morning or evening when temperatures are more comfortable.

🧊 Cool off often – A cool towel around your neck, a portable fan, or dipping your feet in the water can make a big difference

🍉 Choose refreshing snacks – Watermelon, grapes, cucumbers, and other fruits with high water content are great options.

🌅 Keep your campsite ventilated – Open windows and vents when possible to let fresh air circulate through your tent or trailer.

🐾 Don't forget your pets! Make sure they have plenty of fresh water, shade, and never leave them unattended in a hot vehicle or trailer.

Most importantly—listen to your body. If you start feeling dizzy, overly tired, or unwell, find shade, cool down, and drink water.

We had a great time at the Christmas in July celebration last Saturday at County Shores! 🎄☀️

Thank you to everyone who decorated their campsites, brought delicious dishes to our potluck, and helped make the day so much fun. We loved seeing all the creativity and Christmas spirit in the middle of summer!

Congratulations to all of our decorating contest winners, and thank you to everyone who participated. Events like these are what make our camping community so special. ❤️

We already can't wait for next year's Christmas in July!

One of my favourite camping breakfasts is this easy CAMPING BREAKFAST SKILLET🍳. It's hearty, delicious and requires very little prep at the campsite!

My camping shortcuts:
✔️ Crack your eggs at home and store them in a bottle or jug with a splash of milk🥚🥛
✔️ Grab a frozen breakfast hash mix (potatoes, bacon/sausage, peppers & onions) from the grocery store🥓🧅🫑🥔
✔️ Shred your cheddar cheese before you leave and keep it in a zip-top bag🧀
✔️ Season with your favourite spices, salt, and pepper🧂
✔️ I like to top it all off with a little ketchup and voila!

The result? A filling breakfast that'll keep you fuelled for a day of fishing, hiking, or relaxing around the campground.
