Our stay at Hide-A-Way Hills was truly excellent! Very proactive and clear communication with Ray, and we really appreciated the detailed tour when we arrived. The space is private, absolutely beautiful and truly unique. We also really appreciated the gift basket and smores station too, it was a really good highlight of local goods from Norfolk County. We would recommend this spot to anyone + we'd definitely come back for another stay!

The Hide-A-Way exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we were personally greeted, shown into our personal luxury stay to the evening under the stars to the morning wake up bathed in the sounds of the forest. We came for a peaceful getaway and left rejuvenated! It was perfect.

We had the most restful/peaceful stay at Ray’s Hide-A-Way. He greeted us with wine and gave us a tour of the property. It’s the kind of place where you don’t need to bring anything he has thought of everything. Snacks, toiletries, anything you need is there. We booked a dinner reservation at Thrive Norfolk (a 15 minute) drive away and had the best farm to table 8 course meal). Next time we come we think we will just bring steaks to grill. Feeding the deer carrots at night was an amazing experience. We made a fire at night, listened to music, and watched the stars. We saw 5 shooting stars. Incredible experience. We will be back. Thanks again for being such an amazing host.

From the moment you book, Ray is on it. He provides clear and concise information and when you arrive, he's there to greet you and to lead you to your magical space. I love how you have to walk down a short path, excitement building, and then you see it. Ray really puts a lot of work into maintaing the grounds. And then you walk through the billowing curtains and this is what you see in the photos, but even better! The cabin is beautiful and comfortable, but it's the surroundings that make it so special. Ray has the firepit already set up, but if you prefer him to get it going for you, you just have to ask. The dining cabana is screened, with a chandelier, so you can dine in the forest rain or shine. In fact, there are a few different cabanas available to enjoy. Amongst the trees, Ray has bird houses and feeders so there's no shortage of feathered visitors. We loved our stay. Ray a very generous and attentive host, ensuring you have the best experience. We plan to return again.

WOW,,,, seems HIDE-A-WAY HILLS is definitely for Honeymooners

We came here to celebrate our mini-honeymoon, going straight from our wedding into nature, and it was the perfect way to unwind. This was our second visit, and it was every bit as special as the first.

There are so many thoughtful extras. Having all of our dishes washed for us was such a treat, and the welcome basket and wine were wonderful touches. The unlimited s’mores and firewood made relaxing by the fire so easy. We actually brought far more food and treats than we needed because so much was already provided!

The listing also undersells the wildlife experience. We loved feeding the deer and watching the birds and chipmunks visit the feeders. You may even spot raccoons checking around at night to see whether you accidentally left anything outside. It was a peaceful and memorable mini-honeymoon, and we already know this is a place we will keep coming back to.

Our host Ray has created an amazing space of private tranquility, we felt right at home upon arrival. It’s right by the Turkey Point trails so while I rode my bike my wife relaxed and read in a storybook setting. It was the perfect little getaway for us.
We loved cooking on the fire, eating in the screened in dining room, and making smores for dessert. There is also a giant yard with lawn games that we weren’t expecting, and so many places to have your morning coffee.
This is truly a unique experience and would recommend to others looking for a special getaway.

This was our second visit to Hide Away Hills. This property is simply spectacular! Our host Ray has done such a beautiful job creating a peaceful place to sit back, unwind and let nature amaze and entertain you. He has created a private sanctuary filled with fallow deer, pheasants, a water garden, multiple outdoor seating areas and a bedroom that is simply stunning.
There are so many wonderful features such as the outdoor shower built for two, the ambiance of the screened in dining room and a fabulously prepared firepit with an endless supply of smores.
The view of the Carolinian forest is spectacular...I swear my husband was looking for monkeys to swing by;)
We've all heard of Mother Nature, well Ray has got to be Father Nature...the grounds are impeccable! The attention to detail, the beauty of the property and the privacy meant for 2 reconnects you with nature and each other.
Anyone who appreciates special magical places, this place is for you.
We'll definitely be back!!!
