Shore Acres Park Campers: Bid farewell until the spring to the Port Dover community with a trip downtown to experience all our little port town has to offer. The town’s businesses – unique boutiques and shops, restaurants, bakeries, cafes, galleries and the Port Dover Harbour Museum – team to present the annual Fall Crawl Shop Local event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 17. Along with the opportunity to explore the outstanding local business community, artisans and a concert are planned. Enjoy your stroll!

From delicious seafood pasta to timeless women’s fashion, mouth-watering cheese from around the world, artesian soap, a fabulous Lake Erie view and meal, pickleball and golf, Shore Acres Park campers sampled an array of products, services and culinary experiences at a discount through our Shop Local Initiative. The partnership involves outstanding local entrepreneurs offering an incentive to campers who patronize their businesses. A tip of the hat to participants David’s Restaurant, North Shore Soapworks, Pearl’s Boutique, Nonni’s Fresca Cucina, Pickleball at Dover Coast, The Dover Cheese Shop, The Links of Dover Coast and David’s On Tour food truck. We can’t wait to visit again in the spring!

Shore Acres Park Campers: Several food vendors visited our picturesque campground this summer, serving up smiles one scoop or scrumptious meal at a time. Thank you to Dolly’s Sandwiches, Heaton Up The Grill, Harbour Cheesecake, The Ice Cream Truck and T ‘n’ T Treats for making Shore Acres a pit-stop on their culinary routes. It was a very tasty camping season, indeed.

Shore Acres Park Overnight Campers who are not quite ready to winterize their recreational vehicles are receiving a wonderful gift from Mother Nature this year with Southern Ontario experiencing a warmer and drier fall than normal. Autumn is a lovely time to camp at Shore Acres. Our mature tree canopy serves up a cornucopia of colors, the beach is an amazing spot to watch the sun rise or set, the clear night sky offers a stunning view and cooking over an open flame or embers makes everything taste better. Shore Acres Park Campers: One of Ontario's largest and oldest agricultural fairs celebrating a rich community tradition spanning over 185 years arrives at the Simcoe Fairgrounds just in time for Thanksgiving on October 5. The highlights of the Norfolk County Fair include daring midway rides, entertaining grandstand appearances and motorsports, outstanding concerts and entertainment, interesting agricultural competitions, exhibits and shopping. Plan to mark the upcoming "giving thanks" season with a good, old-fashioned trip with family to the fairgrounds at 172 South Drive. The fair runs until October 11. For more information visit
