Ok I’m at the lodge, listening to one of Chris Morgan’s podcasts about roads affecting our ecology:
How America’s roads alter our ecology, with Ben Goldfarb (reprise)
They tell me that in the lower 48 states of the US you are within 20 miles of a road with the exception of a tiny corner of Yellowstone National Park where the distance is slightly greater. I look up and glance at this landscape around Great Bear Lodge where the nearest real road is back on Vancouver Island over 50 miles distant, even farther in other directions. What lucky people we are here on the Coast of BC. Check out Chris’ other great podcasts Have a great day!
